Part 12 ♥

***We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.***

Elena's P.O.V.

I woke up on the 25th December lying in my bed with Louis arms around me. I looked through the window and realised that it was snowing outside again.

I still felt very weak but I tried my best to stay strong. I turned to Louis and looked at him. He was beyond beautiful and I couldn't ever stop watching him. Then he opened his eyes and as soon as he looked into mine he smiled.

"Hey, it's present time." I whispered.

"I don't want presents. I just want to lie here with you forever." He mumbled drowsily.

I smiled. "Indeed." I pushed him gently so he would get out of the bed.

So he got up and I wanted to do so, too. But as soon as I stood on my feet my head started spinning. I staggered and Louis was alarmed. "ELENA?! Is everything okay?"

I faked a smile. "Yeah, just go downstairs. I'll follow you when I'm back from the bathroom."

He still didn't seem convinced. I tried my best again. "Come on, Louis, I'm okay. Just go now."

He turned around to go but I knew he didn't really want to leave me alone here.

Louis' P.O.V.

Elena wasn't feeling good that morning and even though she tried to hide I noticed that. After she almost forced me to go downstairs I did.

I was still a bit worried. When I entered the living room Elena's parents were already sitting there. Under the Christmas tree were lots of presents. Elena's mum smiled. "Merry Christmas, Louis!"

I smiled back and wanted to answer but suddenly we all heard a rumbling coming from the stairs. Her dad jumped up from the couch and together we raced to the stairs.

What we got to see was the worst I ever had to face. Elena was lying on the ground with a laceration on her forehead. Her eyes were closed and she seemed to be out cold.

I heard a stifling cry from behind me. It was her mum.

Me and Elena's dad raced to Elena and sank to our knees beside her. I grabbed her hand. "Elena? Can you hear me? Darling, please! Open your eyes."

"KATIE, PHONE THE AMBULANCE!!" Her dad screamed desperately to her mum.

Tear flooded my eyes. "Elena! Please... please... hold on. The doctor's going to be here soon. Just hold on."

She slowly opened her eyes and her face was contorted with pain. "Louis?" Her voice was weaker than ever and very low but I was still able to understand her.

"Yeah, it's me sweetheart." I tried to sound strong but I failed.

"It hurts so badly." She wailed with pain.

I nodded. "I know, babe. But I'm here. And I won't ever leave you."

There appeared a shred of a smile on her face. She still tried to act like she was fine so just I was feeling better.

Her eye lids dropped again.

I knew that she shouldn't fall asleep because it was dangerous. "Elena, babe, stay with me. Don't close your eyes."

She whimpered. "But it's so hard, Lou."

Tears rolled down my cheeks. It was hard for me to see her in so much pain. "I know... babe... I know." I sobbed.
