Part 11 ♥

***I've learned that you can keep going long after you can't.***

Elena's P.O.V.

I woke up and saw Louis sleeping next to me. It was Christmas Eve - Louis' birthday. I got out of the bed as quiet as possible so he wouldn't wake up. Then I tip-toed to the cupboard in which I had hidden Louis' present from him.

All the friends would come around this morning until they would go their own families in the evening to celebrate the Christmas Eve.

I went back to Louis who was still sleeping. I pecked him on his cheek which obviously tickled him because he started to smile before he opened his eyes.

"Happy Birthday, my love!" I whispered.

"Thank you." He smiled and kissed me. Then he yawned and got out of the bed. I handed him out my present for him.

He opened the small packet and smiled as he realised what was in it. It wasn't an expensive present... I mean, sure I had enough money to buy him something expensive because I would need no money for my future... but the thing was that I wanted to get Louis something special. It was actually a little book into which I had drawn all the memories we shared together. There was a picture of me and Louis being at the beach with Marley, our first kiss in the park, the two of us lying on the garden swing and so many more. It took me ages to draw all this but Louis was definitely worth it.

He gave me a bright smile and pulled me into his arms to kiss me again. "Thank you, darling." He mumbled between two kisses.

I grinned. "You're welcome. And now get your ass downstairs." I put my tongue out at him.

Louis' P.O.V.

I raced into the bathroom to get ready because Elena has already brushed her teeth and everything. She even had all her clothes on.

Then I put some clothes on before I went downstairs where my family was waiting. As soon as they saw me they started to sing "Happy Birthday" for me. I grinned and opened my presents. They were lovely and I thanked my parents and Gintarė.

Then my parents left the house to visit my grandma so our friends could come around for my birthday. The first ones to arrive were Abbie and Liam. Then Cattie, Zayn, Niall and Becca arrived. And the last two were - of course - Harry and Sophie. "Why did it take that long, Harry?" Elena asked with a grin on their face. Sophie sighed and answered cheekily. "You know, he spends a lot of time in the bathroom to get his hair curled." We all laughed and Harry put his tongue out at her before he started to tickle her as revenge.

It was a lovely time with the friends and after lunch they all went home to share Christmas Eve with their own families. My parents would come home soon and we would be joined by Elena's parents in the evening.

So for dinner mine and Elena's families were together. I was really happy because of that. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

After the dinner we all helped to clear the table and suddenly Elena went out of the room.

Elena's P.O.V.

I raced into the bathroom because I felt one of those attacks coming. As soon as I was in the room I locked the door and leaned against it before I sank down to the floor.

With my arms wrapped around my legs and my head on my knees I just sat there and tried to ignore the pain. I closed my eyes and clenched my teeth as the pain got harder than ever before.

Someone knocked at the door. "Elena? Are you okay?!"

It was Louis - of course. He always noticed if something was wrong. I took a deep breath to make my voice sounding normal. "Yeah, sure. I just needed to go to the toilet. No need to worry, babe. I'll be back in a minute."

He waited a moment before he answered. "Yeah, okay, I'll be in the living room then waiting for you."

"Okay."

Then he finally went away. Tears ran down my cheeks because while I was talking to Louis I tried to suppress the pain so he wouldn't notice. I sighed and took another deep breath. I was feeling a little bit better and got up from the ground. Slowly stumbling to the mirror I was still feeling weak. I looked into the mirror and realised that I was looking awful.

"Not today!" I whispered to myself. "You're not going to ruin his birthday! Got that?"

Then I swallowed two of these painkillers. I splattered some cold water into my face and pinched my cheeks so I wouldn't look that pale before I unlocked the door and went into the living room where everyone was sitting. Before I finally entered it I stopped to put a smile on my face.

Then Louis, my parents and I said "Good bye" to Gintarė and Louis' parents. Louis would spend the night at mine so we went home.

Lying in my bed with Louis arms around me was making me feeling a lot better but I still felt weak and I knew that this wasn't just anything; I knew that this was going to end... very soon.
