<>Chapter 6<>*Connor's P.O.V*
She's crazy. Absolutely crazy. Out of her mind crazy, literally.
This whole quest thing surprised me. Big time. Sylvia is completely new to all of this, and she kind of dived in headfirst. Honestly, not even Percy was that brave when he first learned about this hidden world of ours. Yeah, he was headstrong and stubborn, but I don't think his bravery matched hers. I'm impressed she's made it this far without completely freaking out.
Somehow, the Aphrodite girls found out about what Sylvia was going to do, and they kept it quiet for the most part. They're actually how Travis and I found out. One day in camp, pulling me to the side, Caitlyn, the gossip queen, told me about Sylvia's intentions. She told me, and I quote, I should be her knight in shining armor and go with her.
Really, I didn't mind. Sure, I'll admit it. I think Sylvia is a very attractive girl. She's got curves, and she's not as skinny as a twig like those magazine models. She was about average, but beautifully average. Her skin is just the right shade of pale, bringing out her magnificent blue eyes. Except for that little moment just 30 seconds ago. Her eyes, they were white as diamonds. Her hair grew longer and straight, also becoming silver. Her bow expanded to her full body length, and in that moment, I'd never seen such power.
It was kind of freaky, but at the same time very enchanting. But, I had to focus on getting everyone out of their imprisonments. I carried Sylvia to the nearest tree, and gently laid her next to it, putting my backpack under her head to create a cushiony feeling. A slight breeze hung in the air, making it chilly, so I draped my jacket around her. I smiled to myself. She looked rather cute, all bundled up.
I sighed while ruffling my hair and grabbing a knife. I walked over to Percy and cut him loose first. Then Clarisse, and the rest. No one was actually injured, thankfully. Just a bit freaked out of their wits, although, who'd blame them?
If Sylvia hadn't attacked that stupid spider, I would have been wrapped up too. And probably dead. Though I have to admit, the look on her face when she saw the spiders was really funny. I'll have to remember that so I can prank her later. . . Oh that'd be hilarious.
Letting everyone relax since they got the worst of the spiders, I went around and grabbed some wood. I started a little fire and watched over everybody. They soon fell asleep, leaving me on watch. I'm practically babysitting seven unconscious demigods. Fun.
*Sylvia's P.O.V*
I stood in the middle of a forest, in a meadow of snow that looked to be like a frozen lake. The white snow sparkled in the bright moonlight, falling gently. In front of me was a woman that looked vaguely similar to the one I saw while on the bus. Her white hair glimmered, almost fluorescent, and her silver eyes glowed in the night. She wore a ground-length white gown with a veil that had gold sequins. A bow was strapped to her back, almost exactly like mine but longer. I could recognize who she was immediately. Artemis.
Unsure of what to do, I bowed, not minding the cold snow. When my knee connected with it, I felt no sense of cold though.
"Stand child," she said. Her voice echoed loud and clear. I looked up, my mouth slightly hanging open, and slowly stood. "So, you are the child. You are Sylvia, are you not?" she asked. I nodded. She smiled gratefully. "I apologize on behalf of the voices in your head. 'Twas merely-"
She was cut off by a black twister catching her off guard. It was drowning her it seemed. It got thicker and darker, until a silver, glistening arrow came out of the cloud and flew right at me. Piercing me in the heart, I collapsed into the now freezing snow with a scream.
