(just letting you know... Medusa can turn people to stone, Euryale's voice can make you deaf or die, and Stheno just uses swords :P they're also called the Gorgons)
<>Chapter 17<>
I looked away from Medusa's eyes, even though they were covered with sunglasses. "No one look at her!" I screamed.
"Aw, why not?" Medusa said. "You know, they're actually quite beautiful. You know you're dying to get a glimpse." She laughed wickedly. I heard the other sisters laugh. Swords were drawn, and it certainly wasn't my group's swords.
"It's Stheno with the swords," I told them.
"What about the other one?" Amber asked from behind.
"That's Euryale, cover your ears if she yells," I told her. She moved her hands to cover her ears, just in case.
"Aw, why are you covering your ears?" Euryale asked. "My voice is wonderful," she tried again, but we stood our ground. Stheno laughed viciously. I was still looking at the ground when I heard a twig snap in front of me. I reacted quickly.
I swung my knife, barely hitting Stheno. I swung again, making her step backwards while stumbling. She then swung at me so I bent backwards with a loud grunt. I shot back up to get her, but she wasn't there. Instead I found myself dumbfounded by what I saw. Percy was battling Medusa with the help of Grover and Annabeth (^_^) while Tyson, Clarrise and Travis were battling Euryale. Conner was in front of Amber, blocking her. He had his knife out too.
Suddenly, I was pulled back. My head was bent back so far, I could see the sky above me. A sword was put up against my neck. "This time, you don't get any second chances," Stheno said. She dug her claws into my forehead as she lifted her sword up. She plunged.
Something came and knocked the sword out of her grasp. She looked at me confused, and her eyes widened. Gut feeling.
Stheno let go of me to fetch her sword, but not did she know, she wasn't going to touch that sword for quite a while. I held my hand out and the sword came to me. In the process the tip cut her forehead. She yelped, but it healed. She quickly turned her head to look at me. I smiled, but it faded quickly.
Something pushed me forward, the sword flying out of my hands and back to Stheno. I turned over to find a head of green snakes. I looked away, but my head was turned. I looked into Medusa's eyes thinking that it'd be the last thing I saw. Her snakes hissed, ready for me.

I might make a another chapter or two before Christmas but then I'll have to take like a week break of writing for Christmas. And thank you for reading my new book, it means a lot to me. :) I sort of expected it to escalate a little faster and higher but oh well haha. Guess I have high expectations.
