Part Thirty Nine

Laurence's POV
I watch as Aaron kissed y/n. I'm not going to lie... I felt jealous. As much as I would want to deny it, I can't (believe me that's gotten me nowhere).

Aaron then came to me.

"Take me to the portal" I say to Aaron

"I can't" Aaron says

"Why?" I ask Aaron

"You know you're one of them. You know you're not giving in. But what you don't know is their power." Aaron explains

"Power? How! I thought we- "

"Sealed the shadow lord away" Aaron says continuing my sentence

"What happened?" I ask

"The shadow lord was quickly informed about the news that you all left behind your past. He took this as a chance to gain power unnoticed. Garroth and I have been hot on his trail for a while but we didn't tell you" Aaron explains

"Why? Aaron I could've- "

"Faught? Yes you could've but that would mean risking your life. I've known about your past, you did it once... and where did that get you? Not just that but think about y/n. She would- "

"Help" Y/n says waking up

"It's too dangerous, you would be risking- "

"Everything. I know. But if you're fighting I'm fighting by your side" Y/n says

"Should I help too?" Lucinda says waking up, packing her potions

"How- "

"Me too" Travis says

"Minus well make everyone wake up" I jokingly say

"Oh... this was a only us thing" Lucinda says putting away her phone

Me and Aaron look at each other and shrug. If we're going down were going down together.

Everyone comes to our room as we make a plan.

"Everyone but Garroth and Zane are here... Where could they be?" I ask myself

"I'll go check" Y/n says

"Be back" I say as a he exits the room. I hope nothing happened...

Your POV
I head out the room having so many thoughts in mind.

What'll happen after all of this? How will we defeat him? How will it all go down? My mind is full of questions!

I head toward Garroth's room and see him intensely training. I watch from the door. He starts to head out and I decide to hide around the corner.

Garroth looks around as if looking out for something and then runs. I silently follow him. He heads toward the woods. I hide in the bushes as Garroth sneaks toward the person on the middle.

"Tell me what you know, now" Garroth days to the shadowy figure in the center.

"Foolish, aren't you?" the figure says grinning

"What does he plan to do?" Garroth asks with a angered tone

"He? Oh no, you haven't heard? He got overthrown" the figure says

"How?! Who? Why?" Garroth asks

"The sisters threatened to kill the lord but gave him a choice. Put up a fight and lose all power or hand himself over and gain more. The lord needed as much as he could get and the rest is unspoken of" the figure explains

"The yin~yang sisters? But why! Yin wouldn't -"

"Is that your friend?" the figure says heading in my direction

I keep quiet hoping the figure leaves. He doesn't. I see he takes starts to take out a katana and I come out.

I come out with a dagger in my hand (you got to be prepared).

"Y/n! What are you doing here?" Garroth says shocked

"You know this girl? Oh this will be fun..." the figure says taking out a katana

"Don't get her involved, it's me you asked for... Not her" Garroth says as the figure holds a katana to my throat

"You know what I want, hand it over" the figure says moving the katana closer

"Let her go, then I'll give it" Garroth says

"Really? Oldest trick in the book!" the figure says moving the katana closer

I can feel the katana blade touch my skin. I start to get nervous amd drop my dagger.

Garroth takes out a silver necklace with a pendant in the middle. He holds it up and puts his sword by his side.

The figure lifts the katana from my throat and puts his katana away. He starts walking toward Garroth as I pick up my dagger.

I then try and attack the figure from behind but he caught me.

"Sneaky, eh?" he says blocking my attack

I signal Garroth to get his things and leave. He takes his sword and attacks the figure. The figure then collapses to the ground.

"Y/n are you okay?" Garroth asks

"I should be asking you the same thing! I -"

"Let me explain. I got a message from Aaron that the shadow lord had gained power and needed to be faught. I came here yesterday to meet Zane only to find he got kidnapped" Garroth explained

"Garroth I've been worried sick about you! And now I find out about all this!" I say

"Aaron and I went back to where Phoenix drop was last located at. We started rebuilding it and prepared for his- well... Her arrival" Garroth said starting to walk into the forest

I stay quiet and hear someone muffle help. Garroth heads toward a tree where Zane is tied up.

"What's going on? First there's a shadow lord, then an amulet, then the pasts, and th-"

"We have to head back home and inform Aaron and Laurence of the news" Garroth says as he unties Zane

"Garroth I don't know much about this but I do know someone who might" Zane says

"Any information will do" Garroth says

"I'll tell you in private, I get the feeling were being watched...
