Wherever I want. Sure.

Yep. I went to the strawberry fields, even though I got lost on the way because the harpies were doing a great job in patroling the camp. There was a bench overlooking the field, and the smell of strawberries calms my senses. Wierd, I know.

"Hey," someone said.

I looked back. "Who's there?"

The guy who told Annabeth that there's another war showed up behind a post. He walked to me. "Mind if I sit down?"

I scooted to the edge of the bench. "Suit yourself."

He sat down and crossed his arms and legs. "So... how'd you know about the war?"

He said it like it was an everyday part of his life.

"Dream? I don't even know why it showed itself to me," I said. "Just got claimed WHEN I WAS ASLEEP AND DREAMED OF ANOTHER WAR HAPPENING IN PLACE."

"Demigods do have a hard life. There's nothing we can do about it except train and fight with our enemies to be free."

I sighed. "So... uhhh..."

He laughed. It sounded like bells tinkling and birds chirping and- "Calyx Andrei. Son  of Apollo, god of music."

So... that explains it.

"Well, I'm Nash, daughter of that god of the underworld... my life's pretty hard isn't it?"

He just shrugged. We sat in a comfortable silence for I don't know how long.

"Calyx?"

"Hmmm?"

"Does your father talk to you? Like he kind of protects you from... harm?"

"Yep. I'm his favorite son." He winked. "But yes. He talks to me when I need him the most."

The sun was already rising. Colors of the clouds were beautiful. Calyx saluted to the sun. "Hey Dad."

"I better keep going. My siblings will know something's not right when..."

"No probs," he replied. "But can I just shake your hand?" He held out his hand in front of me. "Friends?"

I accepted it. His hand was warm against my cold one. Must be his father, 'cause he's the sun god's son, after all.

How ironic. Light and darkness.

"Friends," I said at last.

I sneaked right into a trap that's my cabin.

When I went inside, the lights are off, but they were all standing— right there in the dark. "Shoot."
