"Girlfriend" I repeated that word so many times inside of my head. Did he say it because of the situation I was in or does he actually have feelings for me? I want to tell him how I feel but I'm scared. What if we do start dating and he goes off on tour and he finds someon-"Earth to (Y/N)", Josh waved his hand in front of my face. I guess I was daydreaming," Yeah?" "You were staring off into space and I wanted make sure everything was alright",Josh replied. "Oh. Well, I'm fine thanks", I smile trying to hide the nervousness in my voice. Josh raises an eyebrow," Are you sure? You seem nervous. Is there anything you want to talk about?" I let out a sigh," I guess I just have a lot on my mind but it's nothing to be concerned about". Josh looked at me and looked away.
~time skip to car~
I put the key in the ignition as Josh buckled his seat belt. "Where to now?", Josh asked as he fiddled with the radio."I don't know....pick a place", I said as we pulled out of the mall parking lot. "Take me somewhere special", Josh said as he finally found a station and sat back in the passenger seat. Somewhere special? Then I thought of it," I know where to go!" I took the next exit and headed towards the forest. Josh looked excited as we left civilization and took a turn down a dirt road. I parked off the road and hopped out. I haven't been here in forever. Josh hopped out and walked over to me," Where are we? It's so cool out here!" I smiled at Josh's excitement," My hometown basically. This is my special place". I walked around to find the start of a familiar trail. Once I found it, I motioned Josh to follow me.
"So how did you find out about this place?"Josh asked as he kicked around some rocks. "I used to walk this trail all the time with my mom before....", I trailed off. Josh looked over to me concerned," Before what". I looked up to him," Before the accident". Josh knew this was a soft subject and we found a log to sit on. "She used to take me here all the time and it would be our "mother-daughter" time. We used to go to the field near the end of the trail and have a picnic under the big oak tree in the middle of it. But when we were coming back home from one of our walks, we got into a car crash. Fortunately, I was in the back seat where there was hardly any damage and I walked away with cuts and bruises. My mom was....not so lucky. The car drove right into the drivers side and the impact....the impact killed my mom. It's been over four years but I miss her so much. And my dad has not been helping with the situation at all; he's been abusive ever since she died. He'll go out and not come home until late at night, sometimes with another woman. If I even mentioned my mom around him he would spaz out and throw stuff at me and yell at me. I know he misses her but he has gotten too violent". I pause for a moment to let Josh absorb all of the information I just threw at him.
"Is that why you self harm? Because of your dad and what he did to you?", Josh asked after a small moment of silence. I nod slowly,"And because of people at school and what they said to me. That I'm a freak that listens to "emo" music all the time and deserves to die. And I still believe them...." Josh scoots closer to me and wraps an arm around my waist," You shouldn't believe them; they're wrong. You are the most amazing, beautiful, smart, artistic girl I have ever met. Believe me". I smile," I believe you Dun". Josh continues,"And if you ever get the feeling to self harm ever again please, don't do it. Talk to me or Mel, heck even Tyler or Jenna. We all care about you and you don't deserve anymore pain in your life". I look up at him," you really care about me?" Josh nods his head, blushing. I smile and look down at the ground, hopefully my hair is hiding my face because of my blushing. "I can see you blushing you know", Josh says with a small giggle. I start to giggle but quickly stop, thinking about that one word again. Josh looks over at me concerned," is everything okay (y/n)? It looks like something is bothering you". Well two things actually...would you want me as your girlfriend and I don't want you to leave. I shake my head," Nope. Everything's fine". I can't believe I just lied to Josh I hope he can't notice that I did. "Just making sure. I...we...you...ugh never mind ",Josh looks off twiddling his thumbs. I raise my eyebrow,"Josh is there anything bothering you?"
He looked at me with his beautiful brown eyes shining in the moonlight. Wait a minute...its night time already?!! Josh continues looking into my (y/e/c) eyes,"I've been wanting to tell you something ever since we were at Disney together. You're really amazing and I love how artistic you are. And..." He stops for a second. "And what?" I ask scared/excited about what he's about to say.
"I think I love you (y/f/n) (y/l/n)"
