" Who knew the person you'd take a bullet for is behind the trigger ", I think to myself.
I didn't know where I was going, I just followed my heart. None of the signs on the streets looked familiar but I seemed to know where I was going. My feet eventually carry me to a quiet neighborhood. All the light's were off, except for one house. I walk closer to the house, soon realizing it was Josh's house. I looked around and saw no sign of Josh, good. I was hesitant, but I made my way to the front door. I noticed another car as I walked up the driveway, who could that be?
I press my finger against the doorbell. I hear quiet murmurs and footsteps. The door opened to reveal Jenna.
"(Y/N)?!", She whispered and quickly pulled me into a hug.
"Jenna....", I cry out.
Jenna closed the door and we made our way to the living room where everyone else was. When Tyler saw me he quickly got up and walked over to me.
"What did you do?", He exclaimed, full of rage.
"More like, what did HE do Tyler", I say trying not to let tears stream down my face.
Tyler's face became saddened and apologetic. He looked over to Jenna," I'll be right back. Please take care of (Y/N)".
Then he was gone. I hope he wasn't going to search for Josh...
Surprisingly Laura and Bill were still awake and were worried sick about me and Josh. Laura took my hand," Sweetie, do you want to talk about what happened tonight?"
I look into her worried eyes and over to Jenna," I don't think I'm ready to talk about it right now...but thank you for staying up and waiting". Laura smiles, soft and reassuring.
I head upstairs, everyone else thinks I'm going back to sleep but I don't think I'm going to sleep at all tonight. Before heading to "my" room, I look over to Josh's childhood room. I walk into his room. His scent quickly clings onto my clothes and fills my nose. I needed him. Not the him that was at the party, the him who would let me wake him up at 3 am and listen to whatever I needed to say. I began to cry. My shaking shoulders proved that it was colder without him. I grab one of Josh's hoods and crawl into his bed, this was the only way I could get close to him with out getting hurt again.
I don't know when I fell asleep but I woke up early, the sun was starting to rise. I put on Josh's hoodie and head downstairs. Luckily nobody was up yet so I didn't need to talk about what happened last night. I opened the back yard and made my way to the lawn. The grass already had dew on it and the water sparkled from the sun's morning rays. Even though the ground was wet, I sat down and took in the scenery. The smell of grass and fresh air filled my lungs.
After an hour or so of the silent morning I heard the backdoor open. I look to see who entered the yard from the house. Jenna.
"Jenna?", I was shocked. She stayed here?
"Yes I stayed here overnight if that's what you are wondering. I couldn't leave with out knowing if you were okay or not. You're important to me, to Tyler...and Josh", she replied. She waits a few seconds to ask, "Are you ready to talk about what happened?"
I sigh slowly and nod," I think so."
She sat down next to me, " I'm here to listen. "
Jenna sat quietly as I told her about the events of last night. I tried to include every detail so Jenna knew everything. I'm glad she was here, I needed to talk to someone otherwise my thoughts would lead me to do things that I would later regret.
