Raven's POV--

We finished up her math, and set it off to the side of the table. I could tell she was tired, as it had taken a bit longer than I thought it would. Lilly rubs her eyes and sighs.

"I don't like school." She says sadly. I look over at her and smile.

"Don't worry, it'll be over before you know it." I say, she nods. "Trust me," I laugh, her face breaks into a smile.

Mom comes into the room and we stay quiet. She barely notices us and does her thing, and leaves again. I hear her walk to the door and yell out, "I'm going to the club" and slams the door. I roll my eyes. Lilly just sighs and puts her head down.

"Ravey?" She asks, I look over at her.

"Yes Lilly?"

"Can I have hot chocolate?" She asks quietly. I chuckle to myself. See, mom doesn't let anyone except herself and our brother have it. But Lilly knows I have a hidden stash of the best hot chocolate powder. I nod.

"Sure." I say, and run upstairs to grab it. I go into my room and dig around in my desk for the black jar. I find it and bring it downstairs, making sure that our brother wasn't in his room.

I put the kettle on the stove, and put some powder into two cups. I sit down with Lilly, and notice she looks bored.

"Wanna play a game or something?" I ask, she nods. I bring out a checkers board, and some dice.

We go through a few turns in checkers an the kettle whistles. I get up to pour the water into the cups, and stir the powder. I bring the cups to the table and set one in front of Lilly.

"Remember, be careful it's hot an we don't want it all over grandma's checker board." I say, smiling. She rolls her eyes and nods, blowing on her hot chocolate to help cool it off.

We sip at our hot chocolate and continue the game of checkers, once it was over we played Yatzee.

*10:30pm that night*~~

I sit down at my computer, and listen to my music through the headphones. My phone vibrates and I see Jessica texted me.

Jessica Bailey: Wanna go adventuring?

Me: Where?

Jessica Bailey: The mansion!

Me:........

Jessica Bailey: Come on, might as well try an find the truth!

Me: Alright, I'll meet you at the gate in 20.

I see Jessica read my text and I click off my phone. I get up and grab my jacket, and peep out my door. I see light from under my brothers door but the door was shut. I tiptoe out of my room, quietly closing the door, and head downstairs. I grab my shoes, leave, and put them on outside.

I quickly exit the yard, and make my way down the streets to the Moorin Mansion. Jessica met me outside the gate.

"Hey," she says, I nod. "Ready?" I nod again.

We open the gate, and enter. We walk through the graveyard quietly, until we reach the same tombstone from before.

"Who's is that?" I ask, she shrugs. "I feel like it's familiar somehow, not like familiar as in I've seen it before, but familiar almost as in it was mine..." I say quietly. Jessica sighs.

"Dunno man." She takes a closer look, "Was prob someone important to whoever owned this place."

I nodded. I stare at it for another minute, then turn around. Jessica points to the house.

"Let's go in." She says I nod. We walk across the courtyard looking around. We walk up the steps to the creepy mansion, and push open the heavy doors. The inside was pretty neat, there was a grand Victorian staircase, it was the first thing you'd notice. Beyond that, there was two short hallways on left and right sides of the room, both that lead to wooden doors. The wall that the stairs was on, the left side had a silver door, the other had another wooden door.

"Upstairs or here?" Jessica asks, I shrug. "Okay main floor first."
