Chapter 21

Back to school.

I floated half heartedly through the hall of school. It has been a week since Michael yelled at me. And earlier today he said that I wouldn't have deserved him even if we did date. And he started bullying me again. Non of my best friends know he is bullying me again I would fear for their band if I told them. Plus they are getting more successful and will be leaving on tour for a year in a month. "Tris!" Someone yelled. "Ohh what is it Ashton?" I ask waiting for to reply. "U r locker is way back there u look horrible and u are gonna miss your third class. "Oh sorry. I got carried away." I say looking slightly down at the many slits I had built up on my wrists. He grabbed my wrist and walked into an empty classroom. "Is it Michael?" I nod my head to answer. "Ashton why can't he just be the same he was to me when we agreed to be friends." I say realizing that I am pounding Ashton's chest and crying it out. "Ssshhh sh. Tris it's ok.It's gonna be fine."

I know it's not. He doesn't even know about the bullying and that for some reason Michael hates me now.

No, Ashton no it Isn't." I've fallen for him and I don't even know if he feels the same way about me now."
"Tris that isn't true. I will tell u this but u have to keep it a secret." I nod.
"Michael's dad left last year. His mom is pretty cool but anyway. He thinks it is his fault. And after that he had a girlfriend, Anna Tico, (picture above) and he later found out that she was just using him to make the popular boys jealous." Ashton showed me a picture of a rather stuck up looking. Im not gonna say it.

"He soon got consumed by this, and started self harming. And believes that no one can get close to him or else they'll be harmed." I started to cry a bit into his shoulder. "I don't want him to be alone. He's so adorable and innocent."
"Michael. Innocent. Ha!"

"Stop it Ashton." I say meaning it.

"Tris for now you've got to move on." Ashton says sternly. "I I can't." Is all I could get out.
