Ben POV
Mal is becoming more and more...distant, I guess. She zones out a LOT, She doesn't tell me what her nightmares are about, and most of the time I see her just staring off into space. Today I'm gonna sit down with her to really see what's the matter.

Later that day

"Mal come into my office." I said to Mal as she walked past the office door that was open. "W-what's t-the matter?" She was stuttering. "Mal I wanted to ask you why have you been so down and distant, I rarely see you smile and you've lost those natural sparkles in your eyes, it hurts my heart to see you like this. What's wrong?" That's when she broke down. She just sat there crying, after a few seconds I pulled her into a hug. Her shoulders shook as she sobbed violently. "My mother Ben, I see her everywhere, in my dreams, in the castle, in the town, in other people, I see her every time I close my eyes. Ben I don't know what to do. All I think about is what she can do to us and how she treated me and how afraid of her I was and still am. Sometimes I can't breathe at the mere thought of her and those stupid horns. When I look in the mirror and see my eyes, the make me want t to scream because they are just like hers. I can't do it anymore Ben I just can't." I was speechless. Wow. What she said made me hug her tighter and shed a tear or two. "Mal, I am always here for you, you're never alone, make sure you come to me with this stuff ok?" "I will Ben" "ok good now let's go to Bed it's been a long day."

Then we were off to bed
