Love Project

Evie POV
Jane and Lonnie are in my drama class and we were assigned to do a project together.

The assignment is to make a music video or a musical about love. You can write your own song for the project or simply take one from the radio, as long as there is no music video for the song.

Jane, Lonnie and I were in the courtyard making plans for the assignment.

"I wanna do a concept that's something out of the box, not a song that's straight up 'Oh my gosh I love you so much it hurts! Let's get married and live happily ever after!' You know what I mean?" Lonnie explained.

"I agree." Evie and Jane said at the same time, making all of us laugh.

Then I got an idea.

"Hey it dosen't have to be an original song right?"

"Nope, it can be from the radio or something." Jane replied.

"Then how about instead of doing a lovey-dovey song, we do a song about conflicted love? That's out of the box right?" I asked.

"I'm all for it, except how are we going to find a song about conflicted love?" Lonnie asks, writing down my idea on our notes.

"True, it's not like they're everywhere." Jane added.

"I know just the song!"

I pull out my phone and go to Spotify. I play the song I hate you, I love you by Gnash ft. Olivia O'brien.

"I LOVE IT!" Jane squeals.

"That's seriously my new favorite song!" Lonnie says after Jane blows our eardrums out.

"Great now that that's settled, who should we get to sing it?"

Lonnie pulls out her yearbook and starts flipping through pages. She gets to the section titled "AP's cutest couples"

I didn't even know there was a section for that...

"We obviously need a couple, because couples have that chemistry that two random actors/singers don't have." Lonnie says, making a good point.

"But we have to be sure that they can sing." Jane adds.

We looked and looked but finally stopped until we got to the last page, we had found the perfect couple.

"Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Mal and Ben!" The group said simultaneously.

Now for the hard part....

Getting Mal to say yes.

I knew Mal would say no.

"But Mal you would be perfect! All you would have to do is sing a few verses, walk around a little and let us record you for a few seconds. Please, please, please, please, please, please, pleeeeeeaaaasssssssseeeeee!!!!!!!"

"ALRIGHT! I'll do it just stop saying please!"
