Mal POV

It's 12:30 pm, Saturday morning.

Well, afternoon actually...

Evie was gone when I woke up and I still haven't gotten out of bed.

I really feel like doing nothing.

I check my phone to find no new notifications, text messages or missed calls....

Some social life huh.

I attempt to get up but I'm pulled back down by a stabbing pain in my ankle.

It hurts so bad I have to stand on one foot. I hop over to the bathroom where there's better lighting and roll up my pajama pant leg to examine my ankle.

I wish I didn't.

It looks so bad I gag.

Its swollen, and literally looks like a tomato.

At this point, I don't know what to do or what I did to make this happen.

"Ummmmmm..." I say to myself as I try to figure out what to do next.

Maybe I should call someone.

I then decide to change out of my PJs and make myself look a lot more presentable.

I stumble to my closet and pick out some black shorts and a purple tank top. I quickly change into them, not wanting to shower with my ankle looking and feeling like this.

I put my hair into a ponytail and hop to my sink. I brush my teeth and put on some natural looking makeup.

Now I look normal.....if you don't look at my right ankle.

I don't know who to call because I can't think straight.

All I can focus on is the pain.

I finally decide to call Ben, who was in a meeting all morning that finally just ended.

(On Speaker)

*Ring Ring*

Ben: Hey Mal! I was just about to call you.

Just at that moment, Mal was making her way to her bed when she tripped on her area rug and fell, her ankle twisting in the process.

Mal: *Screams in pain*

Ben: MAL?!?!?!

Mal: *Too busy crying in pain to speak*

Ben: *Hears the cries of pain* Mal are you okay?!? I'm coming right now!

*Line Disconnects*

Ben POV

I am now full speed running to Mal's dorm. I get to her room and lucky for me, the door is unlocked.

I run in and find Mal on the floor, crying. Her ankle is swollen and red.

I've never have seen Mal cry this hard before, and it breaks my heart.

I rush to her side and pick her up.

"Ben..."

"Shhhh, I got you now," I say placing her on her bed and rubbing her back while I'm hugging her.

"Now let me look at your ankle," I tell her.

She moves her hand off of her right ankle and you can tell by just looking at it, that it hurts more than you could imagine.

"Oh my god, Mal how did this happen" I place my hand on it and Mal winces. I quickly move my hand away and walk to the closet.

Every room in Auradon prep has a first aid kit with an ice pack that you don't have to freeze.

I find it and shake up the contents and place I on mal's injury.

"It hurts so bad..." Mal cries on my shoulder as I lift her up, with the cooling pack on her ankle, as I carry her to the infirmary.

"I know baby, it's going to be okay, just relax."

*******2 1/2 Hours Later********

The nurse said that mal had some allergic reaction to an anklet she wore yesterday, and Mal twisting her ankle made it even worse.

She gave me some medicine to give Mal to make the swelling go down and said that the redness will go down along with it.

Mal is now sleeping peacefully in my arms as I carry her back to her room.

I twist the doorknob and it's locked. I Knock on the door to find a very worried looking Evie answering it.

"Oh my goodness, I was so worried about Mal I haven't seen her all day, and I was calling her and Mal wouldn't answer and then I realized she left her phone and the-"

Evie stopped rambling when she saw Mal's ankle wrapped up, and saw Mal's tear stained face sleeping against my chest.

"What happened?" Evie whispered, with a sympathetic tone in her voice and sympathetic look on her face.

"She had an allergic reaction to an anklet she wore yesterday, which made her ankle red and swollen, then she tripped and made the ankle even worse," I replied, setting Mal on her bed and tucking her in.

"Oh yeah she bought an anklet yesterday when we went shopping and she wore it all night, but then she got a small rash and thought nothing of it. She seemed fine this morning....I should've woken her up to check on her..." Evie said, blaming herself for the whole thing.

"Evie, don't be so hard on yourself, you didnt know this was going to happen. Besides, she's alright."

"Well thanks, Ben, you're so helpful and caring towards Mal. You make up for what she never had."

"Its what she deserves." I give Mal a kiss on her forehead and head out the door, giving Evie Mal's medicine on the way out, also saying goodbye.

Seeing Mal in pain, brings me pain too.
