-Magnus threw crazy wild parties that that Two main opposing sides, Shadow hunters and downworlders, attended alike.
-Gatsby threw crazy wild parties that the two main opposing sides, West Eggers and East Eggers, attended alike.
-Both Magnus and Gatsby lie about their age and background to impress people
-Magnus is a very mysterious character who readers question (like when Magnus is first introduced through Clary in The City Of Bones, when Magnus signed the spell he put on Clarys mind I know that I was like 'oooh, kill that bad guy!!!' But, he's really a good guy, until Camile knows him) while Gatsby is very similar
-When the main characters get invited and go to one of these characters parties, everything goes down and the view of these characters are gone
Valentine
-Had great dreams but was so focused on the outcome, their procedure was flawed and terrible, making them seem evil
-both wanted their girl back
-both got killed trying to attain their dreams
