I have a bunch of things about blood
1) Isn't it weird that the introduction of Jem, he has blood [literal, not figurative] on his hands, and the way that whatever-its-called gets in because he has Jems blood on his hands
2) After spending time with step family [or really distant family] when your only blood relative is your sister [or brother] you begin to appreciate them
3) After spending lots of time with step-family, I begin to realize that sharing blood isn't everything
4) Will is Jace's great-great-great grandpa. Sounds like a lot, but its not really
5) Is it weird that the Lightwood/Herondale feud started because Will did...yeah, that. And Gabriel ends up with Wills sister
6) Edmund and Jace were both orphaned
