"Loren you've been ignoring me lately," Jacob said.
"Oh" I replied, unsure what to say.
He stormed off into the bathroom and locked the door. Would it be unfair to say I couldn't care less, because I didn't.
I chucked on a pastel pink crop top that said crybaby (Melanie Martinez reference) black ripped jeans and black high top converse.
And then I snuck out through the window and made my way to empty park and sat on the swing on my phone with my headphones in.
After five minutes I noticed a boy had come along and sat on the swing opposite from me.
I took out an earbud and tilted my head at him.
He grinned at me. "I'm Mark"
"Loren" I told him.
We looked at each other for a couple minutes. Then we exchanged phone numbers and planned to meet up tomorrow at the skatepark at noon.
We said our goodbyes and I went to this building that had been abandoned years before.
I often hung out here when I was lonely or just bored. I'd covered the place in graffiti and hung up fairy lights around the place.
Only Sam, my childhood best friend and I knew about this place, we'd discovered it together as children.
I remember it was the middle of winter, and the building was hidden away, barely able to be see. because of the fog. We'd gotten lost, we were walking home from the park together, thinking we knew our way, but the fog was so deep we couldn't see a thing.
I missed Sam. He'd moved away to Australia or something because his dad had gotten a huge job opportunity there.
I went home around eleven thirty, my phone was dead so I couldn't use the flashlight on it. I wandered through the streets in the dark.
