Hai. c: If you've read my other story, "Your Joy, My Pain," (The one about Azalya) I made a pre-quel to it, this time mainly based on Sandra instead of Azalya. & Even though it's a Pre-Quel, it probably won't make too much sense unless you've read the other story first. Just saying. xD :P Okay, enjoy. :P
"Girl." Said the nurse, with no emotion in her voice. After all, why should there be any? Baby girls were nothing special. They were all the same. Well....Maybe being born on Leap Year was a little out of the ordinary, but nothing is truly rare. I was taught that from birth. After all, I was born on Leap Year, too. And I was far from special. Ask anyone. I was only 4 then, and I wanted to be the first to see the new baby's green or blue eyes fill with tears. If there were a lot, she would have extreme depression. If only moderate, then she shouldn't be too bad. I cried so much when I was born, the doctors thought I would drown.
I knew I was different for a long time. I mean, everyone here has depression, but mine is worse than most people's. I know that. And I'm okay with it.
But I didn't want the baby to be anything like me. Which is why I made certain her mom wouldn't name her...
"Sandra!" The baby's mother exclaimed. My eyes widened. "Sandra, you've been just like my daughter for a long time, and I hope you'll be like a sister to new girl here. She's born on the same day as you, too. What do you say? Little Sandra Jr.?"
"I like Azalea..." I mumbled. "Hmm?" She asked. "Azalea. It's my favorite flower. She, uh, looks like an Azalea." She crinkled her nose, but then said, "It is a nice name...In fact, lovely. Sandra, since it's your birthday, as well as Azalea's, why don't you write her name on the birth paper, to make it official. I'll spell out her name. I heard you're very advanced for your age, so I know you can write. Grab a pencil, dear."
I Slowly Did As She Said.
Tbc :P Btw, YES I meant to spell Azalya's name Azalea. You'll see why B) xD
