Never have I been scared my whole entire life. Here I was, seated outside the operation room waiting for the doctor to come out saying those words that will either change my life which includes: Falling down on my knees, feeling my world crushed or simply just, sigh in relief. Though, so many thoughts and scenes were rushing in my mind.
Every ticking of the clock seemed to race my heart at a faster rate than it was a seconds ago. Finally, I heard the door clicked open, The surgeon stepped out and removed the mask from his face. "Your mom. She's alive, but barely breathing. She's in a very deep coma and the chances for her to wake up are very thin. So, I would just say,let us hopes for the best yet, we need to expect the worse, son."
My body slumped on the hard , plastic chair. Hope. Is a four letter word. "Hope." I whispered. It's just a four letter word. Just. A.Four.Letter.Word. Though, I'm not quite sure how will this go?Hopes doesn't exist. Well, in my world though.
"Guessed life is cruel eh?" A voice said beside me. I was startled to see her, sitting there beside me. Her beautiful emerald eyes shine from the brightness of the light. It looks like a full moon on a beautiful starry night. Her hair was slightly messy, yet her chocolate brown hair looks perfect even in that condition.
After seconds passed, she finally turned to look at me and smile slightly. "What's up Lucas?" "To say I was in a state of breaking down was an understatement." I simply said. Her face, wall inches from mine. osh, this is distracting.
She placed her hand on my left shoulder, her warmth seeping through the thin fabric causing it to spread all over my body. I sighed ." She used to tell me this when I asked her how can I matter to the world:
People won't see you as a diamond, because they are busy picking the rock all along. If you ask me dear Lucas, the answer will be, even if you don't matter to everyone, one day, you'll be someone's world. The one they'll fight for. Keep moving because if you don't turn to another page, whenelse will you move to another chapter?.' And then she will kissed me goodnight and hugged me." I told her, tears welling up in my eyes.
"But that's the problem Brook, she's the one. And I'm losing her. I guessed." She hugged me and we just stay like that.
