So these next few parts are a bit off track, sorry! I love the idea of a character experiencing the different "dimensions" of a book, much like readers like myself love to do. I hope you enjoy!

Every atom in Liv's body felt as if it was being sliced in half, causing a nuclear explosion to course through the endless abyss she had become quite familiar with. She felt her body begin to meld together again and once she could, she opened her eyes to take in whatever dimension she had been thrown into.
This time, her eyes were met with a group of poor looking girls to her right, they were all dressed plainly and they were all looking at her. Their faces held pity along with relief, but Liv wasn't quite sure why. A high pitched voice of a woman broke her thoughts and brought her attention to the person the voice had come from. The woman was dressed in extremely bright colors, which seemed wrong considering the depressing vibes from the crowd, even her skin was tinged with a pastel green. She was also looking to Liv expectantly from her perch on a stage. Before Liv's brain could catch up with its foreign surroundings (which it was usually on top of things by now), her arms were roughly grabbed by white gloved hands that pulled her from the crowd and onto the stage.
Just seconds before Liv blinked and entered the abyss once more, the unnaturally colored woman announced her name.
"Miss Livia Penrose, your District 10 tribute for the 68th Hunger Games!"

She opened her eyes again, this time she had blinding white lights penetrating her eyeballs. A large crowd was cheering for her as she sat on a lavish couch in a floor-length dress. An extremely attractive man was sitting in the crowd near the back and he was watching her intently, waiting for whatever she was supposed to do. The sound of someone clearing their throat beside her brought her gaze to a brightly colored man, just like the woman who had called her a tribute for some sort of game. His hair was flaming orange, with yellow and red highlights to give it a fiery look and his skin was orange as well. He was dressed in a smart grey suit, (which didn't work as well as it would if he was naturally colored) and he too was looking at her intently.
Once again, just like it had each time, Liv's brain adapted to her new surroundings without even really knowing anything, yet everything all at the same time.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" Liv found that her voice was an octave higher and held more strained innocence than usual. "It's just so nerve wracking being in the spotlight. What was the question you asked?"
She couldn't help but bat her eyelashes (which she now felt to be fake) at the orange colored man, who she now had the feeling was a show host. He smiled brightly at her, his teeth electric white, and laughed
"That is perfectly normal, my dear. We all get a little nervous just watching you all up here, don't we?" He motioned to the crowd and they all applauded, some even nodded their head in agreement. "So, my question was..."
He paused for dramatic effect.
"Do you like how I'm sporting orange this season?"
And with that the crowd busted into laughter, Liv along with them, and as she laughed she closed her eyes and she was thrown once more into a different point in time.

This time, when she opened her eyes, she was in a clear tube that was just the right diameter for her to stand in it. She tried to turn and take in where she was, but the platform beneath her feet jolted and began to move her upwards where bright sunlight shone on her face. As she neared the top of the tube, the temperature dropped greatly and in a matter of seconds of being at the top, Liv was shivering.
She was finally able to see exactly where she was; an ice cold tundra.
A gleaming metal, cornucopia shaped building was at the center of the circle of where even more teenagers had appeared from the ground. They all ranged from about 13 to 17 and all of them were cold. Liv continued to look around at the supplies that were laid out in front of the cornucopia and she saw that it all ranged from knives and swords to frozen food packets and jackets. Liv immediately set her eyes on a navy colored backpack that was bulging with its contents; she knew that there had to be a jacket of some sorts in there and that's exactly what she needed right now.
A beep of a countdown began from the cornucopia and the voice of some man sounded around all the cold teens.
"The games begin in 60 seconds and may the odds be ever in your favor."
The countdown began and of course Liv's brain found that now would be a prime time to let all the explanations she'd been waiting for surface. Suddenly she knew that she was part of an annual "Hunger Games" as they were called, that were created by the wealthy politicians and president of the evil Capitol. In these games, two tributes, a boy and a girl, were chosen from each of the twelve districts to fight to the death in an arena for entertainment. Liv immediately hated even the thought of these games, but here she was with 5 seconds until she was one of the tributes that would be pawns of this game.
The countdown was over and Liv jumped from her platform and sprinted to the backpack she had spotted just before the clock had started. As she made her way across the snow and ice covered ground, she could see that some tributes had already made it to the cornucopia, where the best supplies and weapons could be found. Liv wanted to get her hands on something she could defend herself with, but she wasn't willing to enter the bloodbath that was ensuing. She had finally reached the pack she was looking for when the whistle of a knife flying past her face startled her. It had only missed her by millimeters and she knew that her attacker wasn't going to give up that easy. Holding her pack up to defend her body, another knife came her way, this time lodging itself in her pack and thankfully not her stomach.
Liv threw the backpack over one shoulder and began sprinting again, this time trying to get as far away from the cornucopia as possible. She could hear the knife thrower try and follow her, but Liv heard a following oof as they slipped on the ice and landed on their back. The slippery terrain didn't stop her at all; she had so much adrenaline pumping through her body. She just kept moving, and moving, and moving. She would hit parts where the snow reached up past her knees, but she kept moving.
