"Liv," the young man repeated. He had stopped running and had finally reached her. "Where were you today? You missed all of our classes today and you never miss. Hermione was stuck partnered with Neville today in potions and you know how badly that went."

She was stunned for a moment, as it finally connected that the name he kept saying, Liv, belonged to her. She also had no reply to this stranger; she had no idea what he was talking about. She continually wracked her brain, searching for any memory that would explain it all, and as she did so her body replied on its own. Her mouth moved, forming words she didn't quite comprehend.

"I'm so sorry, Harry. I was just feeling a bit sick, so I decided it was best to take a day off. And I will make sure to formally apologize to Hermione, I'm sure she probably had to clean up the mess."
The excuse came naturally and she felt as if she was speaking to a friend. Now, along with knowing her own name, she also knew the name of a friend.

"Eh, Hermione only had to extinguish her flaming parchment. She was lucky it wasn't her hair this time." Harry laughed, causing Liv to laugh with him. But as she was laughing, she let out a quiet snort, immediately stopping her laughter as her cheeks began to burn with embarrassment. Her snort only caused Harry to laugh even harder, which in turn make her start laughing again until her cheeks hurt.

"I wish all Slytherins were like you," Harry said after they had both caught their breath. "Then maybe your house wouldn't have such a dark and horrible reputation."

Liv's brain immediately connected the dots and before she could truly process what he meant, she replied,
"I do sometimes wish that I had been sorted into Gryffindor with you three, then I wouldn't have to listen to Draco boast about blood purity and watch Pansy cackle at everything he says." She rolled her eyes dramatically, "It's so sickening to see her constantly drape herself over him."

Harry nodded in agreement and Liv watched as a smile crept its way to his face. "Since you're the one that brought it up..." he began, and once more Liv knew exactly where he was going with it.
"Could you please do your perfectly accurate impression of Pansy? Please?" he added, his smile now contagious.

Liv didn't really want to do it, as she did fee slightly guilty every time she mocked the girl from her house. She didn't like to make fun of people, but at the same time, Pansy was always so awful to everyone (including Liv) that it was somewhat justified. Feeling defeated by the puppy eyes she was getting from Harry, she gave in and straightened herself as she cleared her throat.

"Oh Draco," she fawned in a high-pitched nasally voice, arching her back and delicately waving a hand around for a Shakespeare-like effect. "I idolize you and every fake word you say against half the population of the school."
Liv faltered in her impression, her eyebrows scrunching in thought.
"Wait, that wasn't very accurate, Pansy wouldn't know the word population if someone nailed her in the head with a dictionary."

She looked to see Harry's expression and he was obviously trying so hard not to interrupt her spectacle, but his smile just kept growing and his eyes squinted as he could no longer hold it in. He busted out laughing so hard that began to stagger backwards. He tripped over a root of the massive willow tree and it suddenly came to life, its club-like branches swung around, hoping to nail the unlucky person that had disturbed it. Along with the branches, the whip-like cords of leaves also were swung around and as Harry tried to scramble to his feet, they were knocked right out from underneath him again.
Wanting to help her friend escape the fiery tempered tree, Liv rushed over, keeping her head low, and gripped Harry's hand. She pulled him up and just as the pair made a run for it, the thin wiry whipped her across the cheek and Harry across the arm. The burning and then numbing sensation on the left side of her face didn't stop Liv as she kept running, pulling him along with her.
