Fitz lips were soft against Sophie's as they stood close.
"Wow." Sophie breathed.
Fitz laughed. "I know what you mean."
Fitz slipped an arm around Sophie's waist as they turned to watch the sunset. The sky was painted with vibrant pinks, purples, oranges, blue, and gold, all illuminating the red savannah- like sun.
"This is so perfect, Fitz." Sophie said, snuggling into him.
"I hoped it would be. I tried to make it the best proposal possible, but I wasn't sure if you'd like it."
"Of course I like it. With you, it doesn't matter what it is- I still have a great time." Sophie said.
Fitz smiled, Sophie joining.
They stood there in silence, enjoying every second of the moment.
"You know, we should probably head back. Biana will be anxious to know how this went." Fitz said.
"Wait, Biana knew about this?" Sophie asked.
"Yeah, my whole family did. They gave me a few pointers and helped me plan this." Fitz blushed.
Sophie laughed. "Well then, I guess we should get back. Knowing Biana, she can't wait long."
"Okay, let's go."
Fitz pulled out his leaping crystal once more and they vanished in a beam of light, reappearing at Everglen. Everyone rushed towards them as they landed, all waiting expectantly for an answer they'd been dying to know about.
"She said yes!" Fitz whooped, grabbing Sophie's hand.
Sophie smiled and blushed as everyone started clapping.
Biana came up to Sophie first, and squeezed her tightly.
"You two are getting married! Ahhhh, I'm so excited! Wait, hold on. We're gonna be sisters!" Biana said, dancing around in delight. Sophie just had to giggle at Biana's happiness. Biana looked almost as happy as Sophie felt, from what she could tell.
Alden and Della came over to congratulate the couple.
"Aw, we're so happy for you, Sophie. I couldn't picture anyone better for Fitz." Della hugged Sophie.
"Thank you." Sophie said.
For the next few minutes, there were enough hugs and congratulations to last a lifetime.
"So, have you guys thought about your wedding at all yet?" Biana said excitedly.
"Biana. We just got engaged." Fitz said, glaring at his little sister.
"Sorry! But I'm just so excited for you guys to get married! Oh, and Sophie, I call being your maid of honor." Biana said.
"Okay. And calm down, we're planning on getting married sooner than later, so you won't be dying of excitement for long." Sophie smiled. Biana's excitement was contagious!
Everyone went to sit down by the bonfire, where the wedding talk continued. As Sophie was bombarded with questions, she felt a thrill. She was really getting married!

The halls of Foxfire were filled with whispers and gossip the next morning.
"Did you hear?"
"Yeah, Sophie and Fitz Vacker-"
"I wonder when they're getting married-"
Biana came running up to Sophie as she made her way to her first morning session.
"Sophie! There you are! You know, you and my brother are the talk of the school right now." Biana said.
"Yeah, I've received enough looks and heard so much gossip already, and I haven't even been here five minutes." Sophie said.
Biana laughed. "Don't worry. With graduation tomorrow, it'll be off everyone's minds before you know it."
"Okay, good. Even after this long, I still hate the attention." Sophie said.
"Oh, Sophie. I just do not understand you sometimes."
"Yeah, whatever,"Sophie laughed, "let's get to class."
