~~Maddie's POV~~
Frustration mounts as I stand here, struggling against Tristan's hold, doing my utmost to break free. Meanwhile, Kristen growls in my direction.
"You're going to pay for that." She turns and walks out, and I scream.
"Let me go Tristan." I fight him, I swear, I'll kick his ass too. I watch this bitch as she places her suitcases in her car, knowing I won't be happy until all her teeth are on the ground. She had no right to mention my mother; she knows nothing about her. My mom left when I was six after meeting someone and simply vanished. One day we returned home to find her gone, without a goodbye or any farewell. We haven't seen her since; I wouldn't recognize her even if she stood before me. As the dust settles and she disappears from view, all I feel is rage. Tristan releases his grip, and I turn to glare at him.
"Fuck you, Tristan." I slam my palms into his chest as he just stares at me. I don't feel bad, I just feel the anger as it flows in my veins. That bitch and her mouth. Tristan walks up pulling me to his chest and I calm down.
"Sorry, but I don't think orange is your color Maddie. So prison isn't an option." He kisses my hair and I see Josh standing there staring. I walk over to him and place my face inches from his.
"If you ever bring that bitch back in the house, I will beat the shit out of her then you." He looks at me and places his hands on my shoulders.
"Never going to happen Maddie. She had that shit coming." I let out a sigh and move to wash my hands, careful not to glance at our guests. I mean, I just openly confronted her in their presence. Yep, I can be wild. Once everything is ready, Tristan assists me with the table setting.
"I'm going to change, you guys go ahead and eat," I announce before ascending the stairs. The sound of movement and hushed voices reaches me as I enter my room. Stripping off my clothes, I toss them into the hamper and step into the shower, letting the cool water wash away my anger. Afterward, I tie my hair into a messy bun, don a blue and white button-down flannel shirt, rolling up the sleeves, and pull on my jean shorts, securing them with a belt and coordinating earrings and bracelet. I slip on socks and step into brown boots that match my belt. A groan escapes me. I can't believe she had the nerve to say that. Just stop dwelling on it, Grey.
I rise and descend the stairs to find everyone seated at the table, yet no one is eating. "Why aren't you guys eating?" I ask. Harry stands up, and the others do the same. He pulls out the chair between his and Tristan's for me.
"We wanted to wait for you, love. After all, you cooked everything," he says with a smile. A blush spreads across my cheeks in response.
"Thank you, but it wasn't necessary. Dig in." As everyone mingles and fills their plates, we chat about our various activities. I steal a glance at Harry and catch him looking my way. A blush warms my cheeks, and I quickly avert my gaze to my plate. The more I see him, the more I'm tempted by the thought of kissing his perfect lips. 'Stop it, Grey, you don't even know him,' I chide myself internally. Thankfully, Niall interrupts my flirty reverie.
