'Wait... is that...?' Nick trailed off.
"Nick?!" you exclaimed, dropping the sewer pipe and running to hug him.
"You two... know each other?" Judy asked.
"Yeah! We used to, uh..." Nick trailed off, thinking of the events that had happened in the past.
"We used to be friends back in the day," you cover for him.
"It's okay... I already told her..." Nick said sheepishly, putting his arm around his neck.
"What's going on?" Judy asked.
"Yeah," Blanca agreed, putting a hand on her hip.
"Well... you see..." Nick started.
-FLASHBACK-
You walked out of the bus as you heard the doors shut close and the wheels going away, you turn your head until the bus is out of your sight.
You sigh and continue walking, a paw on your backpack strap. You just wanted to be alone and escape the crowded house and thick air. You look around and find that you are desperately lost.
You turn and continue walking, seeing a short, wide building with a sign in front.
You snickered, 'Boy Scouts, ridiculous.'
You hear the door to the building fly open and hide behind the corner of the building, you see a fox run outside desperately trying to remove the muzzle off of his snout, he threw it to the ground as small drops of salty water ran down his face, he leaned against the wall and sunk down to the ground, his knees to his chest and spirit broken.
"Ha! He's probably crying!" A voice mocks.
You bare your teeth.
"Where are you?!" another shouts, and looks next to the stairs, "I found you!"
"What a dumb hiding spot," the other remarks.
You glare at them, knowing they can't see you and a small growl escapes you.
One of them grab him by his brand new scout shirt, "I will make y-"
"Hey! Leave him alone!" you stated, revealing your hiding spot and running towards them.
One of them gasped, "It's it's one of the Articas!"
They all scattered to different places and left the small red fox there.
He quickly whipes away his tears, still sniffling. He looked up at you, then back down.
"Wh-Why did you help me...?" Nick murmurs.
"Come on, us predators have to stick together," you said with a small smile. "Don't worry, I'll make sure they won't bother you anymore."
