A/N: So sorry if this sucks I just couldn't think today. But the story is really starting to get going so hopefully that will help me. Anyway hope you guys enjoy this at least a little bit!

*Dimitri's POV*

We had been in the car all of last night and almost all afternoon before Alberta finally parked the car. "Well we're here let's hope this doesn't take to long." She laughed. "I don't think this will be as eventful as Rose and Lissa's disappearance, sadly."

I chuckled and then we both stepped out of the car and stretched. Man that felt good. Traveling was something I hated the most. "So what are the details?" I asked as we grabbed our equipment out of the trunk.

"Kirova didn't tell me much but she did say the child should be in the big brick apartment building down the street. Whoever it is was able to lay low for a little over two months but then was spotted by our scouts." It wasn't like Kirova to hold back on the details she was usually, for lack of better term, a blabber mouth. "Anyway you ready?"

I nodded and put my stake in my inside jacket pocket. "Let's get this over with." I sighed. "These kids need to learn how to stay at the academy."

"Tell me about it." Alberta groaned and we started our rather short walk down the street and sure enough there it was. A tall old looking building that looked more abandoned than anything on the block. "This is where they ran away to? I expected something more...lively." She laughed but I just walked past her something was definitely off about this place.

"Did she say what room number?" I whispered as I walked through the open door.

"114." We took the stairs two at a time. Trying to be as soundless as we could which was impossible because of the old wood stairs. After walking down a dimly lit hallway and taking a sharp right turn we arrived at room 114. Alberta looked at me then nodded. I knocked on the door and waited. Nothing. I knocked again. Still nothing. Looks like we'll have to do this the hard way. I brought my foot forward as hard as I could against the door causing it to nearly fly off its hinges. Alberta walked in first and I looked around the hallway feeling like someone was watching us. "Dimitri!" Alberta yelled and my head snapped in her direction.

A Strigoi was holding her by the neck agonist the wall and there was another one sitting in a chair across the room. I quickly grabbed my stake from my pocket and ran full force at the Strigoi holding Alberta. As I went to hit him the other Strigoi grabbed my arm and twisted it behind me. I let out a grunt of pain but managed to elbow him in the face with my free arm. He stumbled a little so I took my opportunity and staked him.

While the other Strigoi was distracted Alberta kicked him in the stomach sending him flying to the middle of the room. As he went to get up I put my foot on his chest and he chuckled. "No matter what you do you'll still loose. You see Dhampir, we already have your girlfriend and it won't be long before we turn her Strigoi." My back went stiff at his words. "What are you going to do then huh? Do you think you could kill her? Shove your stake in her heart like you do u-" Alberta cut him off by staking him.

"No. Rose." I whispered. There's no way they took her. She was in the safety of the academy when I left. There's no way Strigoi got insi- "We have to go. Now!" Alberta had a hard time keeping up with me as I ran down the stairs and out the door towards the car. I wouldn't let them turn her Strigoi. I'd rather die.

"Dimitri slow down what's the hurry?" Alberta yelled but I ignored her. After running down the block we finally made it to the car and Alberta was breathing heavily as we got in the car. "What the hell was that for? Who was he talking about?" Rage coursed through my whole body and I punched the dashboard only to regret it. "Dimitri!" Cradling my hand against my chest I grabbed the keys from Alberta's hand and quickly started the engine.
