The following day, I went to the gym first up. My brain just wouldn't shut down. Sensei Jordan had retired from the DAA, and just trained others now. It must be something serious if he's back in the field. Then my brain went to the fact that once I turned 15 in eight months, I would have to 'drop-out' of school, and start doing field work for the DAA, like no more training, in eight months it was game on. I would have to leave my friends, Milly, my life. Drop everything and go where ever the DAA sends me, I wouldn't have a home, I'd constantly be moving around. I wouldn't really have a name, each location would give me a new identity.

I don't know how long I'd been running on the treadmill before someone called my name. I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't realise it was Jed.

"April?" He repeated. I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and paused the treadmill, and quickly looked at the screen, 18.5km in 63minutes. I pulled a light jumper on, to cover up the fact that I was only wearing a sports bra.

"Sorry," I huffed.

"Its alright," he laughed. And it was a beautiful sound. "You seemed deep in thought there," he continued glancing at the treadmill.

"Uh, yeh, my Sensei is out of town, so I just came here, I like to clear my thoughts on the treadmill," I replied wiping sweat off my forehead.

"You were going really fast," he smiled, and quickly looked at the screen on the treadmill, and stared open mouthed. "My record is like 15km in 65minutes!" He said with a really shocked face.

"Thats still really good, I train really hard, my current best is like 20km in 60minutes, so I guess this was ok," I answered, still huffing. I quickly grabbed a towel to rub the sweat off.

"Wow April, thats really impressive," he gaped. I smiled at that, and tightened my pony tail.

"Anyway, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I learn't theres only one gym in this entire town, and thats here, and I haven't done much practise recently, you know, with the whole moving around thing," he answered.

"Yep," I laughed.

"Are you still going to the movies this arvo?" He asked

"Yip," I laughed. "You?" I added. He nodded. We stood quietly for a while, but it strangely don't feel awkward. Damn, something was wrong with me. Not ten minutes ago I was admitting to myself in eight months my life is going to be over. Damn, my life is so messed up.

"Anyway, I gotta finish training," I said after a while.

"Haven't you just ran for like, an hour?" He asked, I nodded.

"Damn, how often do you train?" He asked.

"Well, during the school week, its 6 till 8 before school, then 3 till 7 after school, and 5 hours on both Saturday and Sunday," I answered honestly.

"Wow, thats... Thats a lot of training, no wonder you're so fit," He joked.

"Yep," I added. After that we said good-bye and parted ways, I went to the weight section of the gym, I think he went to the punching bag?
