It was finally morning and everyone was getting ready to start the day. All except Joella who was still asleep soundly. Aarin, who was already up and dressed for school, crept into Joella's room as quietly as he could. Tiptoeing to her bedside, he began to get ready for a grand leap. As soon as his feet were off the floor and he was landing on her, somehow she quickly got up and sped to the other side of the room out of his way. Aarin's eyes were closed when it happened since he was bracing himself for impact. "God, Rin! What the hell?" she swore and went to sit on the bed. Aarin raised his head and saw his sister still half-asleep and decided to play a trick on her.
"Go-mor-ng Joel-a." he tried to stick up his voice as he spoke which made her feel as if she was losing her hearing. "It-ime-or-sc-ol. Hur-p."
"What?" she asked rubbing her eyes.
"Mom is waiting downstairs, she made your favorite... so get ready." he talked plainly and smirked as he left the room. Joella sighed as she stretched then rose out of bed. She walked over to her mirror as she rubbed her cheeks trying to relax her face then went to her closet to find an outfit to wear to school. After searching for a good few minutes, she headed for the bathroom to take a shower then she pulled her hair in a high messy ponytail. She put on a plain black tank top, a black miniskirt, black knee-high buckled boots, and silver accessories. After she got dressed, she sat at her dresser and applied black eye shadow, not too heavy, then took up her black lipstick and clear shiny gloss and place them into the side pocket of her bag. Then she went to pack the bag then headed downstairs to the kitchen and placed it on the counter.
"Good morning Joels. Slept well?" Rachael said as she placed bacon with buttermilk biscuits and coffee in front of her. Joella nodded and dug right into her meal. "What's with the emo-ish look today?" she asked as she inspected her. Joella just shrugged and as soon as she was finished, she got out her compact and applied the lipstick, etc. Rachael took up her plate, washed them, and called out to Aarin. "Rin! You ready? Let's go. Joels, Chloe is stopping by to pick you up for school and Katelynn will bring you back."
----
Waiting outside the house by the mailbox, Joella stood patiently as she saw a silver car in the distance and began to walk slowly to meet up with it. "Hey, Joels. C'mon, let's go."
"Hey Chlo." she faintly smiled and then Chloe drove off. Joels stared out the window for almost half the ride to school trapped in her own world.
"...y God... a naked old dude is running beside my car!" Chole burst out and Joels finally snapped out of it.
"H-huh?" Joels looked up and stared helplessly at Chloe. Chloe glanced at the seemingly exhausted Joella next to her and smiled as she looked back to the road.
"Nice of you to join me back in the car," Chloe said as she turned a corner. "Are you sure you're ready to take on school today?" She asked worriedly. Joella nodded. Watching her best friend, Chloe quickly examined her in between glances at the road then back to her. "By the way Joels," there was a short pause and she looked at Chloe. "What's with the gothic look today? I mean it looks good on you but... why?" Joella stared back out the window as she watched the lively trees and plants fly past her. "Hey...did you hear wh-"
"I heard you," Joella said still staring out the window. "I like black now, okay?" She simply said, her voice trailing off with a hint of coldness in it. Chloe began to get worried and decided not to bother Joels with any more questions.
About ten minutes later, they arrived at the school and everyone seemed normal, all except Joella who was acting sluggishly and emotionless for the entire ride. She got out of the car and placed her dark sunglasses on her face then swung her bag over her shoulder and walked away from the car without a second look towards Chloe. What has gotten into that girl? Chloe thought. Joella walked towards the school entrance hiding her face from the brilliant light of the sun. Urgh! What is this sensation? Joella thought as she looked around and heard Katelynn in the distance. As soon as she stepped into the hallway, all eyes were on her. She calmly walked towards her locker ignoring stray stares. Then she heard his voice. "Hey there, Joella. Missed me?" The familiar voice said. Joella spun around in anger and immediately became enraged with a desire to knock the person right out of her personal bubble. Grabbing his neck and squeezing it, she raised him three inches off the floor not even looking into his eyes as he held onto her arm for support. She stared into space as if she was completely unaware of her actions. "C-can't... b-breathe." He said trying to gasp for air, which only made her grip tighten around his neck even more and she grinned menacingly. Then she muttered the word, 'DEATH!' His eyes widened as the word she said echoed in his mind. DEATH! DEATH! DEATH! DEATH!
"Joels, stop it!" A kind voice said in the distance approaching them.
-"What's going on?"
-"I-I don't know."
A series of witnesses murmured amongst themselves. All of a sudden, they all dropped down unconscious."Joels, slowly... put Jacob down now," Katelynn said calmly as she walked cautiously towards her. When Joella heard her voice, her head whipped around in her direction and it tilted on a side showing a blank emotionless expression on her face. Her eyes were narrow and completely shaded the color black, and she grew a menacing grin that made her look evil.
"Oh no!" Chloe said and there was a brief silence amongst the assembled group of friends. "Quick! Someone call-" in the blink of an eye, Joella was now only 2 feet away from her face with a dangling Jacob in her grip. Chloe's breath hitched and she was raised off the floor being choked like Jacob by her own best friend. Joella tossed the unconscious Jacob to the lockers on her right and the impact caused the lockers to dent and unhinged. As Chloe gasped for breath struggling in Joella's hand, she winced in pain as she felt the bones in her throat breaking and blood streamed from her mouth while she mouthed the word, 'Run' to her friends as her eyes slowly closed. The rest of her friends watched in shock as they slowly retreated and Joella released Chloe from her grasp allowing the left side of her body to hit hard on the floor fracturing her bones. Then without warning, Joella went after them all, one by one.
Is this the end?
