Preston and I had finally made it to my house. Preston was about to knock, but I stopped him. 

"Why are you going to knock?" I asked him.

"Um, because that's what you do when you want to enter a house?" He said sort of confused. 

I laughed a little. "Preston, this is my house. Can't I just walk in?"

"Um, I guess?" 

I nodded. "Yep, I can. And I'm going to."

I opened the door and walked in, with Preston behind me. 

"Mom? Dad? I'm back."

"Skylar?" I heard from around the corner. 

My mom and dad walked to the door, and immediately hugged me. 

"You're back! I missed you so much!" My mom said. 

I hugged them back. "I missed you guys too."

They let go of me and took a step back.

"Where were you?" My dad asked.

I looked at Preston, he just shrugged. I looked back at my parents.

"I'm sorry I was gone for so long, and I didn't tell you. I met a new friend that's already out of school. I was going to spend the weekend at their house, and I was going to call you. But, I lost my phone until today. I'm sorry." I lied. 

I honestly hated lying to them, but would could I say? 'Yeah, sorry, but I got kidnapped by Vik's friend that had a crush on me, and then he became my friend.' Yep, that would totally go down well.

"We understand, but you scared us so much! And you could have reached out to us some other way, so you're grounded." My mom said.

"What?" I asked.

"Yep. I don't know how long, but you are. I mean, for all we knew you could have been kidnapped!" My mom responded.

I heard Preston laugh quietly behind me. I glared at him, and he stopped. 

"Yeah, I can understand that. I'm sorry." I said. 

"It's ok. Just never do that again, ok?" My dad asked.

I nodded. "Ok, I won't do it again."

My dad looked at Preston. "Thank you for bringing her home Preston. She's lucky to have you as a boyfriend."

Preston smiled. "Thanks Mr. Johnson."

"Wait, I didn't know you had a boyfriend." My mom said.

"Mom, yes you do. We've been over this." I said, embarrassed. 

"Oh, yes. I'm sorry, I forgot." She responded. 

"Is it ok, if I stay here for awhile? I want to talk to Sky for a bit. Plus, I can give her the homework needs." Preston said.

"Oh, yes, of course. Do you want to stay for dinner Preston?" My mom asked.

"No thank you. My parents would want me home soon." Preston responded.
