Tainted Heart - A Jai Brooks Fanfiction

Chapter 2

The journey from the airport was quite long so I decided to have a creep through Jai's phone. When I unlocked the screen again my eyes were drawn to the screen saver. My jaw dropped. The girl that Jai was hugging was Ariana Grande! THE ARIANA GRANDE.

"What the fuck?!" I exclaimed. This was unbelievable. I scrolled through his photo album and found hundreds of pictures with Ariana in them. I was impressed, this boy managed to pull one of the most gorgeous girls in existence.

I was about to lock the phone again when my thumb accidentally brushed the "messages" icon. The message window opened and there was a conversation with Ariana still open. I couldn't help but read the first few texts from six days ago:

Ari: I miss you so much baby xx

Jai: I know babe but my flight is landing in 10 mins so I'll see you soon! We'll have the whole week together! :) xx

I smiled to myself. They were so cute! Jai had out a million hearts beside Ariana's name in his contacts so this must have been serious.. I read on to the texts that were sent yesterday:

Ari: Jai your stuff is still in my house, you need to get it

Jai: Please Ari, can we not just talk about this?! I can't just leave like this we've been through so much!

Ari: I'm sorry Jai, I think we both know we've outgrown each other. It's time to move on and live our lives seperately. :( this hurts me too Jai, more than you know..

Jai: I know, it's doesn't make it any easier though.. :'( I loved you with everything I had, you know that right?

Ari: I know.. I loved you too Jai. Always have, always will <3

I read the texts with my jaw hanging open. They had broken up!! I felt horribly guilty for reading the texts and my heart went out to Jai. I didn't have time to dwell on it much longer because we pulled up to a big house.

"This is the address that you told me" said Darren. "You want me to come in with you?"

"It's ok, I got this!" I jumped out of the car and walked up to the front door. As I rang the bell I tried to straighten out my clothes. I was wearing black leggings and a flowy white top with a denim sleeveless jacket on top and my trusty beanie and uggs. I had worn these to be comfortable on the flight, I didn't know I'd be seeing people!

The door opened and a tall boy with tanned skin and green eyes stood in front of me. He looked a little confused as he tried to figure out who I was. I smiled and introduced myself.

"Hey, is this where Jai and Gina live?"

The boy gave a half smile. "Yeah, Jai's my brother. I'm Beau. Can I help you?"

"Yeah I swapped phones with him on my flight and Gina told me I could get it here..?"

I saw his expression change as it finally clicked.

"Oh you're Leah right! Yeah mum told me to expect you, she's just gone to the shops. Come on in, I'll get Jai."

I smiled appreciatively and walked inside. Beau showed me to the kitchen and stood at the door

"JAI!! JAI YOU KNOB HEAD SOMEONES HERE TO SEE YOU!!!" He screamed down the hall. I couldn't help but crack a smile. I heard footsteps coming down the hall and Jai walked in the door. Shirtless.

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WA-" he started to tell at Beau but then he caught sight of me. "Oh hey."

I smiled and showed him his phone.

"We swapped phones on the plane. Figured I should get yours back to you!"

Jai grabbed the phone that was charging beside him and looked at the screensaver. It was of me and a few of my friends so he instantly realised it was mine.
