Tainted Heart - A Jai Brooks Fanfiction

Chapter 7

---------------LEAH'S POV---------------

I opened my eyes the next morning, wincing slightly at the glare of the morning sun seeping through my window. I lay there for a couple of seconds and then the events of last night came flooding back, Jai, the kiss. I turned my head and found him still sleeping peacefully beside me. He wasn't facing me so I had the perfect view of his strong shoulders, his perfectly sculpted back muscles that rippled every time he moved. Before I realised what I was doing, I reached out and traced a finger along the tattoo he had on his back.

How is he so perfect? I shook my head quickly, dispelling any of those thoughts. I can't believe how reckless I've been already, I need to distance myself from him.

I jumped out of bed and checked my clock, I had to be in work in an hour. I pulled on my blue cropped sports top with my skintight black track suit bottoms and my neon blue Nike trainers. I walked over to my dressing table and put on a small bit of makeup, no point dolling up when you're gonna be in a hot gym all day, and pulled my long hair back into a pony tail. I grabbed my bag and I looked back at Jai one more time. He still hadn't stirred and I frowned slightly.

I can't let anyone know the real me. Not yet. How was I falling for someone so fast when I had so much baggage when it comes to relationships?
I shook head again and went downstairs, grabbing a cereal bar as I made my way out the front door.

Darren was leaning against the car and looked up as he heard my footsteps.

"Good morning ma'am. Ready for your first day?"

I smiled at him warmly. "Ready as I'll ever be! And by the way, just call me Leah. There's no need for formalities around me."

Darren nodded and opened the door for me. I climbed in and leaned back into the lush leather seats and he pulled out of the driveway. I closed my eyes and sighed. I needed to clear my head before heading into work, but I kept seeing Jai's face every time I closed my eyes. I opened them slowly and leaned my head on the window pane.

What have I done?


-----------------JAI'S POV-----------------


As soon as I woke up I remembered the events of last night. I wanted to get to know her so much, to know how hurt she was.. And how I could help her heal from whatever she's been through.
I turned over and stared at the empty space beside me in the huge double bed. She was obviously at work. I sighed and sat up, rubbing my eyes and ran a hand through my messy hair. Might as well just stay here and work out.

I climbed out of the bed and pulled on my blue track suit bottoms. I walked past the mirror on the way out of the room and stopped for a second. My muscles were toning up nicely and my tanned skin contrasted nicely with the deep blue colour of my bottoms. I laughed and shook my head.

"Quit checking yourself out and get your gym face on!" I chuckled to myself.

I jogged lightly down the stairs and made my way to the indoor gym. This girl had it lucky with her own gym, I'd never leave the house! There were even glass cabinets filled with protein mixes and energy bars.

I walked over to the sound system fitted into the wall and scrolled thorough the playlists. I stopped at one named "Motivation music" and pressed play. At once, Avicci's song You Make Me blared out through the speakers and a smirked.

Workout time.


----------------LEAH'S POV---------------

I looked up at the clock on the wall and to my surprise it was already five o'clock. Time flies when you're having fun, I thought to myself. I did another quick lap of the gym, spotting people for weights and checking all the equipment. I saw Emma coming in the door and waved at her. She waved back and walked towards me. Emma was another girl who'd been flown in from Ireland like me.

"Hey gal, how's tricks?"

I smiled. "Fab! First day flew by, who knew work could be so fun?!"

She laughed at my beaming face and shook her head. "Obviously it's not work when you're having fun! Anyway the boss wants to see you so make sure you pop your head in before you leave."

"Alright, I'm pretty much done here. I'll see you tomorrow!" I replied happily.

She walked off and I started packing away the weights that were scattered around the benches. I grabbed my bag and strode over to the boss' office. I knocked gently until I heard her say "Come in!"

My boss is unreal. Imagine Beyoncé except seriously toned and with jet black hair. She looked up as I walked in and smiled.

"Leah! How did your first day go?"

I grinned from ear to ear. "Honestly, it was amazing. I'm living the dream here already" I gushed. She laughed.

I'm glad to hear it! You're a superb trainer, and I'm glad we got our hands on you before any other companies did!" She smiled again before standing up.

"Anyway I know your shift is over now, so I'll see you in a month"

I frowned in confusion. "A month? Am I not back in tomorrow?"

She handed me a piece of paper. "Don't worry, you'll still be working! First before you become full time in the gym, you can start working from home by promoting the gym and organising personal training sessions. Think of it as an initiaton before you fully join" she winked at me.

"Oh wow, thank you so much! I'll see you then!" I turned and walked out the door, grinning like a lunatic. Two whole months free! Things are so perfect, it's like a dream come true.

I climbed into the waiting car and chatted amicably to Darren until we got home. I told Darren to take some time off as I'd be off work for two months and made my way inside.
As soon as I opened the door I could hear loud music blaring from the gym. I dumped my bag at the end of the stairs and took off my shoes. I padded down the long hallway and opened the door to the gym.

Jai was doing pull-ups on a bar suspended from the ceiling. He wasn't facing me but I watched him in fascination as he pulled himself up repeatedly, his muscles straining with effort and glistening with a slight sheen of sweat. He was only wearing track suit bottoms and they had slipped down a little, giving me a nice view of his v-lines. I had to admit, this boy was in good shape!

I decided to make myself known and cleared my throat. He dropped from the bar, landing lightly on his feet and turned around to look at me. He smiled a little and jogged over to the sound system before knocking it off.

"Hey, how was your first day at work?" He asked, genuinely interested. I leaned against the door frame and crossed my arms.

"Good.. Great even! I found out I don't have to come back for two months, I can just work from home whenever.."

Jai's face broke out into a huge smile and he walked slowly over to me. He put his arms either side of me, his body inches from mine. I could feel his breath on my skin, sending shivers down my spine.

"I guess that means we have a lot more time to spend together, doesn't it" he murmured, tucking a stray lock of hair behind my ear.

His touch was more than I could bear and I sucked in a breath quickly. He smiled cheekily and placed his lips perfectly on mine. I melted into his kiss straight away, the warmth from his skin spreading into mine. I grabbed the hem of his trakkies and pulled him closer to me, deepening the kiss. I felt him smile but he didn't object, his tongue battling with mine for dominance. He slid his arms around my back and moved them down towards my ass. His thumbs slid under the waistband of my trakkies and pulled them down just below my hip bones, making me moan in pleasure.
I pulled him even closer to me, and I could feel him getting excited.

All of a sudden, I heard the front door open and Beau's voice rang through the house.

"Oi Leah! Jai! You sluts here?"

We broke apart quickly and I readjusted myself, breathing heavily. Jai did the same. I could feel my heart racing and I was surprised Beau didn't hear it as he poked his head through the door.

"Hey you two, me and Luke are hungry so we're gonna go get Chinese for dinner. We're gonna pick up James and Skip too and we can chill here. Sound good?"

"Yeah.. Yeah sounds good." I was still dazed after the kiss, I'm pretty sure he could have asked me anything and I would have agreed. Beau grinned.

"Cool, me and Luke will be back in a few" he winked at us cheekily "don't get up to any mischief, you lovebirds."

With that he left and I heard the front door close. I looked at Jai and couldn't help but giggle at the sheepish look on his face.

"What are you laughing at?" he asked. For some reason, that made me laugh more and he stepped towards me. I dodged out of his grasp and ran out the door, Jai chasing me laughing as well. I ran outside and stopped at the edge of the pool.
Jai was running at me at full speed and I waited until the last moment before diving out of the way. He tumbled into the pool head first with a huge splash as I collapsed with laughter. He surfaced and slicked his hair back from his face and turned to me, still laughing at him.

"Oh so you think this is funny do ya?" He screeched.

"You sound like a girl Jai!" I broke my ass laughing again and before I knew it, I felt a cold hand grasp my ankle. Jai pulled me in and I screamed at the cold water.

"Not so clever now are we" Jai smirked evilly. I splashed him and started a full on water fight. Jai dove underwater and grabbed my legs, making me squeal with laughter. He surfaced smiling and wrapped my legs around his waist.

"Now," he said softly, his brown orbs staring into mine "where were we?"

I smiled and leaned in to kiss him, our lips moving perfectly in sync. This time the kiss was gentle, but I still felt fireworks. We broke the kiss and I leaned my forehead against his, humming Little Things softly. He opened his eyes and scanned my face, taking in every detail.

"You're beautiful, you know that right?"
His arms holding me tightly. I shook my head.

"Not as beautiful as you.." I replied, blushing at how cheesy I sounded.

We got out of the pool and at the same time, the boys arrived back with the food. Luke looked us up and down and rolled his eyes.

"I see you've been having fun?" He questioned, causing myself and Jai to blush.

"Fuck off Luke." Jai retorted, pulling Luke into a headlock. Beau turned to me.

"Leah this is James and Skip, they're our best mates" he said, pointing to the two boys standing in the kitchen. 'James' walked over to me and gave me a warm hug. "It's great to meet you Leah, the boys were telling me and Skip about you in the car"

I returned the hug and smiled. "Nice to meet you too guys."

'Skip' also gave me a hug and complimented me on my house. "This place is sweet! Can I move in with you!"
I laughed at him, he was so cute.

"You guys are all welcome here whenever, what's mine is yours!"

Beau started handing everyone their food. "Alright enough introductions, food time."

We all took our food and headed into the cinema. James put on 'Mean Girls' saying it was his favourite movie ever. I sat beside Jai and snuggled into him, breathing in the smell of his cologne. He kissed me on the head and hugged me tight. It had been a long day and I felt myself drifting off to sleep. I smiled sleepily at James and Luke who were throwing Malteasers at Skip and closed my eyes and fell asleep.

FINALLY DONE OMG

I'm sorry for taking so long guys, I've had so much school work and exams so I completely stopped writing for a while :(

I'm on holiday now though so I'll be writing a lot more :D
