Kai

"I-I can't get her out of my head."Kai slurred to a drunk Caroline. "I mean. Everything bad I've ever done and just letting her go so easily. I don't even know what state she's in."He took a long sip of Damon's Bourbon.

"Maybe...she's miserable too."Caroline shrugged as she struggled to sit up. "N-No. Gabs is better off without me like Damon said a year ago. I've almost hit her so many times. I remember standing her up for skanks. I-I didn't even remember her birthday once and she had to spend it alone."He admits.

Caroline eyes widen at the blurry figure in the front of her. "Let's drink to the hope of Gabs being pregnant and married."Caroline held up the remote. She was so out of her mind that she didn't know what was what.

"I can't imagine someone else with her. Although I was never actually able to actually say i love her I still always did. In a weird way but with just as much emotion as the next normal person."He pouted hugging his bottle.

"Why? She seemed more like Stefan's type. She seems sweet, smart, and energetic. She was sooo self-less and was just full of life."Caroline replies very confused with the odd pairing.

She never seen them as a couple but from the time she spent with Gabby, she just knew she had no business with a man like Kai. She was innocent almost entirely and he was the devil. "She doesn't need Mr. Hero hair. We always been together. Is it weird I have dreams of us? The nightmares are of the past like her death but there are some where the there's a bright future for us."He asks turning to her blurry form.

He was lucky he knew she was blonde because all he seen was blond. "Damon is going to kill you guys."Bonnie walked in with Stefan right behind her. He had arms full of groceries. It was Bonnie's turn to cook this week so she bought back up food just incase she may burn any first attempts.

"I'm already dead....inside."Kai earned an awh from Caroline before she started to hiccup. "It's been a year already."Bonnie replied before heading to the kitchen. "She's mine, FOREVER. Thanks to you guys, she's gone forever."Kai started to fill his eyes tear up.

"Oh come on, Gabby was pretty amazing."Stefan pouted to Bonnie. "Yeah, you're right. She's happy now. That's all that matters. Where is Damon and Elena?"Bonnie asked taking out the items.

"Out looking for Gabby while I distract Kai from killing himself."Caroline blurted out before falling asleep. Kai was too drunk to even process what she said. Instead he let out a loud laugh.

"I like grilled cheese toast on Wednesday afternoon with a glass of milk."Kai blurts out before his eyelids closed on him.

"Wait? Why would Damon and Elena be bringing Gabby back?"Bonnie asked Stefan stopping exactly what she was doing. "Oh come on, we all know he's a mess. On our couch. In our city."Stefan pointed out not disagreeing with the idea.

Bonnie looked at him in disbelief. "I actually felt sorry for the girl. I thought we all believed she desevered a better life. Just take him home not bring her back. She has memory erased remember?"Bonnie pointed out.

"What's the point of living a life that you were compelled to live? I do wish for her to be happy but I would enjoy it better if I got to see her."Stefan argued.

Bonnie looked at him with widen eyes before crossing her arms. "You've fallen for the one girl that's off limits?"She asked. Stefan then returned the shocked expression.

"She was a good friend of mine. She reminded me of Lexi."He replied honestly. "Then you wouldn't be soo anxious to bring her back to that hell."She pointed out as Kai laid peacefully sleep on his couch.

Kai's dream

Gabby was standing infront of a mirror not even realizing Kai's figure in the mirror. Kai could only see the back of her as she held a hanger and hummed a tone that he found familiar and significant.

She immediately jumped and turned around very surprised to see Kai. "W-Wh......Kai! You weren't suppose to see the dress yet!"She screamed turning around as if it was going to make a difference.

He chuckled and wrapped his hands around her waist feeling a bump just right above him. "No such thing as bad luck when you have a face like yours."He disagreed laying his chin on her head.

"I've basically known you my whole life and you are still able to make me blush like Jr. high."She looked down to her beautiful wedding dress. "Um, Kai?"She called out after a few seconds. He opened his eyes and looked at her nervous form in the mirror.

"Yes, sweetheart?"He replied back massaging her hip bones. "A-Are you mad at me or regret that you don't have magic? I feel like I making you choose between me and merge was selfish of me."She looks down.

Kai honestly never felt any different for her nor did his mind ever wonder off to the past and the what ifs. He was fine right where he was at. He didn't need to have magic when he had everything he wanted right infront of him.

"I don't think I would of been even happier if I choose the other. Plus, I'm back with my family again and soon we are going to have a few of our own. I think our child deserves aunts and uncles. Don't you think?"He asked placing a kiss on her head.

She smiled hard turning around. She wrapped her arms around his neck trying to get on her tippy toes. She shared a passionate kiss with Kai as her stomach crashed into his. That was all she really wanted to hear. And he knew it. She just wanted him to do something self-less.
