Portland,Oregan 1986

"Are you and Malachi like a thing?"Clarrisa asks as soon as Gabby closes her locker. Gabby turns from her locker slinging her backpack onto her shoulder.

"No, I don't have anything going on with Kai."Gabby answers before making an attempt to walk away. "So, he's single?"Rebekah asks with an annoying pitch in her voice. "Y-Yeah. I got to go."Gabby answers rushing out of the empty hallway.

Gabby opened the school door feeling the cool breezy of the autumn season. "God, you look nervous."Rachel laughs catching up with Gabby. "One of the plastics had asked me about Eli. It's my first week of school and they can't seem to leave out anything about Eli."Gabby rolls her eyes.

"Well, after a while they calm down. You will be ignored after the first week I believe."Rachael laughs. "I hope so. Where is Kai anyways? He didn't come to lunch."Gabby asks as they made their way to the bus stop.

"I don't know. He doesn't like me obviously. I'm sure he talks bad of me when I'm away."She shrugs. Gabby looks at her with confusion. "He's just not an open person. He takes time to warm up too."Gabby reasons.

"Oh, come on. When I swooped you up the first day, he sent me daggers."Rachael crossed her arms. "No, I'm sure it has nothing to do with me."Gabby denies it. "You know he's in love with you. He never let's you out of his sight."Rachael teases.

"Oh, I'm not his type. We grew up together anyhow. He's into girls like them."Gabby gets onto the bus. "I don't believe that. And I know you don't either."Rachael smirks. "Are we seriously going to be talking about Eli during this whole sleepover?"Gabby asks.

"Of course not. I just hope I opened a door in that cute little head of yours."Rachael teases. "Do you think high school would be as bad as they put it in movies?"Gabby asks. "No. I don't even eat lunch so I'm positive no one will be stealing my lunch money and shoving me in a locker."She smiles.

"Where were you?"Kai questions Gabby. Gabby stopped walking through the woods to Kai house and turned around. "What do you mean?"She asks crossing her arms. Kai was standing there with his fist clenched tight at his sides.

"Yesterday was Wednesday. Every Wednesday after school we meet at Uncle Tom's Diner for milkshake and fries."He sighs. "Oh, let me guess. You were with Rachael."Kai rolls his eyes.

"I-It totally crossed my mind. We had a sleepover planned last night and I-"Gabby stopped knowing she was only making him worse.

"So now she's your best friend? Now that you have Rachael it's okay to forget about us?"He asks biting his lip. "Eli, you know I care about you. It was only once. I promise it won't happen again."Gabby pleads.

"You know what. It won't be a next time because I'm through. I don't even care about you either, Gabriella."Kai spat her name out like poision.

Gabby bits her lip this time feeling her eyes water. "Why do you have to be such a jerk? What do you have against her anyhow? She doesn't mean any harm."Gabby asks her voice cracking.

"Maybe for the fact that I'm your friend. I was your friend first and she's stealing you away from me."He argues. "I'm not your doll."She takes a step her face red. "I noticed. You're not really my friend either. You met some chic and she's all you care for."Kai rolls his eyes before walking past her to his house.

"You're still the only guy I ever care about."Gabby turns to his back. "That won't matter anymore. Have fun with your new friend."He replies coldly before leaving.

Mystic Falls

"Finally, an off day."Gabby smiles straddling Jake's lap. Jake hands find her cheeks. He slids his thumb down her cheek softly taking in her beauty. "You're so beautiful, Gabriella Jones."Jake smiles back earning a blush.

"Oh, stop it. You're quite handsome yourself."She placed a short sweet tender kiss onto his lips. "I want to take that as a compliment but you are just never that nice."He squints his eyes at her.

"Maybe I just wish to lay here with my Sheriff Riley and enjoy his presence before he's busy tomorrow."She replies laying onto his chest.

"That does sound nice."He places his chin on her head before wrapping his arms around her. Gabby laid there for a moment acknowledging how safe she felt in his hold. "You know, with Elena and Damon adopting kids I don't find it such a bad idea."Jake speaks.

"Yeah, I want kids of my own. I don't know about the whole adopting thing. It just doesn't seem right at the moment. I need nine months of preparation."Gabby laughs. "You want to have kids? Doesn't it hurt?"Jake asks.

"Yeah, but all the pain goes away at the end. And the memories start to develop. I don't know about kids anyhow. They can be a handful."Gabby shrugs.
