Dan's POV

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO STAY ANOTHER WEEK!?" I shout, angrily at my phone.

Mom sighs. "I'm sorry, Danny! But, the doctors here need your dad and I."

"Can't I stay with Grey for the week then?"

"No! Rose is nice enough to keep you and you want to leave? That's a bitch move, Daniel."

"I don't care, Mom! I actually miss you and Dad."

"What do you mean by actually?"

"Holly! Don't swear in front of the kids!" Dad shouts, in the background. I roll my eyes, thinking how ironic it is considering Dad swears in front of me all the damn time.

Where do you think I got my swearing habit from?

"Shut the hell up, Parker and don't interrupt when I'm talking to my baby!" Mom shouts, at the poor soul.

"I'm hanging up before you people start shouting." I say, scowling. Fortunately for me, Mom hangs up for me and I know for a fact she and Dad are still shouting at each other. Once they start a shouting contest, it's hard for them to stop.

This has disturbed our neighbour's so many times and for some reason, I've always been the one to apologize. There's a reason why we don't have guests over all the time like other families. People find my parent's way of life too free and careless.

"What's up, Danny?" Grey asks. "I heard Holly and Parker shouting."

We're currently skipping Home Ec as we kinda didn't finish our homework. I mean, you can't really blame me! Have you seen what's been going on the last couple of chapters? Plus, now I have to stay with Mark for another week.

I should be excited because I get to eat Rose's amazing food for another week, but I miss my bed and I need to check on the food in the fridge. Our milk could have gone bad and the fridge could be stinking.

I don't want a stinky fridge.

"I have to stay with Mark for another week." I reply, glumly.

"Aren't you happy? Another week with your beloved boy toy."

"He's not my beloved nor is he my boy toy."

Grey grins. "Oh, come one, Danny! There's no point in denying your feelings."

I pout. "I'm not denying anything! Stop bothering me about these stupid, non-existent feelings!"

Honestly, I don't know what my feelings are for Mark. I'm 100% sure I hate him, but I think it's beginning to change.

Changing to something I don't understand.

Grey slings his arm around my neck and pulls me closer. "No need to worry about it, kiddo. No one's going to pressure you into talking about it. For now, gimme some of that Rice Krispy you have in your bag."

I laugh and take it out so we can share it. This is the best thing about Grey; he doesn't pressure me into doing anything I don't want to. We sit and eat the treat in peace. I pull out my old sketchbook and flip to an empty page.

I take out a pencil and begin to sketch a drawing of the scenery in front of me. A couple sitting under a tree and talking. The wind makes the tree's leaves sway and fall. It makes a perfect romantic setting for any romance novel.

Or drawing, in my case.

"You know; we should go to our next class before we get detention." Grey says, getting up and stretching. "We're going to be late for Maths."
