"You don't have to apologize" I gave Gabe a small smile before looking back at my emotionally invested fake boyfriend who's talking to Andres.

Mr. and Mrs. Northman went out with Michael earlier this morning to buy something which left the four of us to have breakfast together. I tried finding out what happened last night while I was drunk, but Gabe didn't say anything. The two brothers just gave each other knowing looks, evident that they're both amused.

Those assholes, how dare they.

It turns out, Andres was already sleeping last night so he didn't have any clue as to what happened. He just smiled at me and asked me if I feel okay and I assured him that I'm fine.

His genuinely concerned look was so adorable; it cued another Ariana Grande session inside my head. But of course, it was interrupted by our looming employer.

We're to leave in a few minutes which made Gabe ask his brother if I could hang out with him for the last time before we leave since we didn't get to last night. He's about to leave the country—again, it turns out he's away all the time for work—and he feels the need to be able to talk to me.

"Well, at least next time, I'll know not to let you drink anything with alcohol" he grinned and I chuckled. "So, you and Adam huh?" he mumbled and I nodded.

"Yep" I raised my brows as a nod.

"I'm happy for you guys. Just don't mind Michael too much, he's just interested in you because our brother is—that, and that he doesn't know you personally."

I looked at him to gauge his expression but he was looking far away.

"Sometimes I think he's just curious because I'm not like Angelique" I voiced out. I don't know why I said that, but I felt like it's safe to say that. It felt like some things are safe to share with Gabe than Michael.

Gabe turned to face me with furrowed brows.

"You're actually right" he nodded after clearing his face. "You're not like her. You're different in a good way. Angelique and Adam had a lot in common which I think made it look like everything's too plain between the two of them. You, on the other hand, are his total opposite. I can see how you're affecting him."

"Hmm" I raised my brows.

"It's true" he nodded at himself. "You see, Adam is good at negotiating with people—he's good at making deals. Michael's good at secrets because it's his obsession, but it doesn't make him dangerous. He's just a curious little baby"

"And you?" I asked after a few seconds of silence.

"Me?" he smiled as if he's happy someone's curious about him.
"I'm good at reading people. And not the psychic shit kind of way! I mean... how do I put this? Hmm..." he scratched his chin as if he's deep in thought. "I can see through people."

Oh snap, am I in trouble?

Relax; don't let your nerves show.

"So what do you make of me?" I bravely asked.

He smiled at me before looking at his brother and I did the same.

"I can see that you're attracted to him" he nodded towards the walking Great Wall of China. "You just haven't figured out what to do with it yet."

I raised my furrowed brows and my subconscious did the same.

Gabe laughed at my expression. "See? It's understandable though. You guys are just at the beginning—don't pressure yourself."
