Chapter 7

Lucy Pov.

It was the middle of math and I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and the girl handed me a neatly folded piece of paper addressed to me. I quietly opened it up when Mr. Sagittarius had his back turned. It was from Gray. It said

We still on for tonight? - Gray

I turned around and looked at Gray who was already watching me. He gave me a questioning look and I smiled. I turned back around. He had nice handwriting, if he hadn't signed it I would have thought a girl had written it. I quickly scribbled a response.

Of course - Lucy

I refolded it and on the other side I wrote, "Gray", and handed it to the girl behind me who handed it to gray. I turned around and watched as he opened the note. His face lit up as he read what I wrote. He glanced up at me and smiled. I smiled too.

"Mrs. Heartfeila, don't think that just because your a new student, you can ignore me during class." The class erupted in "Oohs" and laughter. I wanted to hide under my desk but thankfully Mr. Sagittarius settled the class down and continued.

Last period was always the longest, especially when you are waiting to go on a "Date" (of sorts) with a really hot guy. I checked my watch. It felt like the second hand took a minute to move rather than a second. I sighed. Last period Natsu sat next to me. Mr. Leo didn't keep a clock in his room so every 3 seconds Natsu grabbed my wrist and looked at my watch. Today I was the one looking at it more. He looked confused and a little frustrated that he couldn't check the time. He got a scrap of paper and scribbled something on it then handed it to me

What's up? You keep looking at your watch.

I responded saying (writing) I just want to leave.

I handed it back. Natsu looked at the note and frowned. He pulled out his pencil and wrote something back.

Can I at least check the time once?

I smiled and let him see the watch. He gave a half smile back and went back to work.

When the bell finally rang, I bolted to my locker. In record time, I was packed up and in the parking lot looking for Gray. He told me he would wait for me by his car. I looked around but Gray was nowhere in sight. Suddenly someone covered my eyes from behind.

"Guess who" a deep voice laughed. I jumped, but immediately realized who it was.

"Gray" I laughed and pushed his hands off of my face. I turned around and Gray had a wide smile plastered across his face. I realized I was smiling just as wide if not wider.

"Aww, how did you figure it out." he joked. "Sorry I'm late I ran into someone"

"Its fine I didn't have to wait long." I brushed off. I realized I was twirling a lock of my hair, a nervous habit I pick up over the years; I immediately stopped and put my hands at my sides.

"Ok, so my cars over there" he pointed at a bright blue Mustang near the front of the parking lot.

"Its old but it works" he assured me. I didn't immediately move towards the car so he grabbed my wrist and took me over. He, being the gentleman he is, opened the passenger door and let me in. I blushed and got in. He quickly went to the driver's door and started the ignition.

"So do you have anything you absolutely must see or can we just drive around and I can point out random places?"

"That's fine." He smiled and backed out of the parking space. Since school just let out the parking lot was crowded and it took us 15 minutes to just get out of the parking lot. When we finally got to the road he asked me a question.
