Chapter 5

It's been about two weeks since Diamonds birthday. She hadn't seen Jason since. He had a big business trip to go to in Miami. They talked on the phone constantly and video chatted eachother every night. Their relationship was starting to grow more and more each day. Diamond spent a lot of time in her office these past two weeks and trying to get her mind straight. Jason was so perfect it was becoming hard for her to believe that she met him and that he was attracted to her. She had never been  in an interracial relationship before, and this was all new to her. She learned that his Investment Banking firm is a family business. When his father retired he passed it down to him. He plans to pass it down to his own kids one day. He wants to start a family and move out of the City or at least get a vacation home somewhere in New England. 

Diamond decided to meet up with her friends for lunch one evening to catch up. They hadn't seen each other since her birthday either since she had been busy in her office these past two weeks. Vanessa walked in with silk pink jumpsuit and a fur coat. Her stomach was starting to get noticably bigger. 

"Look at you!" Diamond said to Vanessa as she walked over and hugged her. "There is definitely a baby in there!" She said and rubbed her stomach.

"I know, I'm so big. It's only been a month. I went to the doctor last Tuesday for my check up and stuff." Vanessa said.

Diamond greeted Keisha and they found somewhere to sit.

"How is Keith doing?" I asked Vanessa.

"He's good. He's excited for the baby." Vanessa said.

"That's good." Diamond said as she looked through the menu.

"So Diamond, how did the rest of your birthday night go?" Keisha said and giggled.

"Good." Diamond said without looking up. She knew that Keisha and Vanessa were about to grill her.

"So did you use the lingere and edible panties I put on the bedt for you?" Vanessa snickered.

"No Vanessa." Diamond said, still not taking her eyes off her menu.

"I don't know why girl, he's cute, and he has money. Matter of fact, what did you say he does again?" She asked, so Keisha could know.

"He's an investment banker." Diamond said.

"Whaaaaat!" Keisha said.

"Told you girl." Vanessa said as she took a sip of water from her wine glass.

The waiter came over and took their order. Vanessa ordered a chicken dinner with potatoes and veggies, Keisha ordered a steak with potatoes and brocoli, and Diamond ordered a shrimp and chicken cesar salad. The women spoke amongst themselves before the food arrived.

"So, have you introduced him to ya parents yet?" Vanessa asked.

"He's not my boyfriend and I don't plan on doing that any time soon."

"Well shit, he might as well be!" Vanessa said as she took a bite of bread.
