Diamond woke up to many good morning and happy birthday text messages. She was getting ready to head out for work and her phone was blowing up. Her mother was calling her when she stepped out of the door. She hadn't spoken to her mother in a few days and she usually spoke to her on a daily basis, as her dad.
"Hi mommy." Diamond said into the phone.
"Happy Birthday Baby!" Her mom said.
"Happy Birthday D!" She heard her dad shout in the background.
"Thank you!" Diamond sang.
"What are you up to baby? You headed to work?" Diamonds mother asked her.
"Yeah I am." Diamond said as she tried to flag down a taxi. For some reason, none of them would stop for her.
"Well I haven't heard from you in a few days, is everything okay?" Her mother asked.
"Everything is great mom. I meant to call you but I've been really busy." Dimaond told her mother.
"Busy with what? A man?" Her mother asked.
"Mom please."
"Diamond, you know I do want some grandchildren from you. Ruby already doesn't like men."
Ruby was Diamonds younger sister. She was twenty one years old and she was very promiscuous. She was young and wild, the total opposite of Diamond.
"I thought that was just a phase." Diamond said to her mother.
"I thought so too. Well, you know, she says she likes men and women but I don't know..I just don't know about that girl, you know one day she brought some--"
Diamond knew her mother was going to go on about her sister Ruby and she wasn't in the mood nor did she have time to hear it.
"Mom, I love you, and I'll call you later. I'm trying to catch a cab."
"Okay baby, call me later okay? Love you."
Diamond hung up the phone with her mom and about five minutes later a taxi pulled up to her. Before she could even look inside of the taxi she told him to head to SoHo.
"Happy Birthday Diamond." The familiar voice said.
"Jason? Jason!" Diamond screamed. "What? What are you -- "
"I guess its just fate". Jason laughed. "How are you feeling?"
"I feel great!" Diamond told him.
"You look great too. Are you headed to work?" He asked her.
"Yeah, how about you?"
"I'm headed to a meeting down in SoHo actually."
