Love Is You

Chapter 8

 Tears poured down Diamonds eyes as she watched the ambulance take Ruby away to the local hospital. They didn't allow her to ride with them so she and Jason had to catch a cab there. Ruby was taken into care right away. 

"I'm here to see my sister. Ruby. She was just admitted." Diamond said frantically.

"Can I see some I.D?" The woman at the front desk asked her. She was starting to get pissed off but she just did as she was told.

"Room 201." She said and rolled her eyes at Diamond. "Where do you think you're going sir?" She yelled after Jason. He looked at Diamond.

"He is with me." Diamond said and grabbed his hand. They rushed down the hall and knocked on the door. 

Diamond covered her mouth when she opened the door to see Ruby fast asleep with tubes and wires attached to her body. A tear fell down her cheek as she walked over to her sister.

"Diamond?" She heard a deep voice say to her. 

"Yes?" She said still looking at her sister.

"I'm Doctor Marks." 

Diamond turned around to see the familiar face stairing back at her. When they locked eyes a chill went down Diamonds spine.

"Calvin? Calvin Marks?" Diamond said.

He smiled at her. The same beautiful smile that she remembered. Diamonds heart started pounding. She walked over and hugged him. Tears started falling down her eyes. Memories from three years ago mixed with what just happened to Ruby caused her to cry even harder. Jason was confused.

"Hey." Dr. Marks said to her. "Come on now. I know you're happy to see me, but your sister is the problem here." He tried to joke.

Diamond pushed him and a slight smile curved from her lips. Calvin was Diamonds first love. 

"Is she going to be okay?" Diamond asked as she wiped the tears from her eyes.  

"Ruby was the victim of date rape. She suffered some major tearing and bleeding. We got the blood to stop just in time. We did a rape kit so we will see how the turns out soon. She's traumatized and dehydrated. We have her on an I.V for now, until she can manage on her own. She should be back to normal soon."

Diamond shook her head in disbelief. She knew that Ruby would be up to no good tonight. She knew she wouldn't be able to keep her promise.

"Did they find out who did this to her?" Diamond asked.

"We have a detective questioning those who were at the club. They will search high and low, they have lots of cameras set up in there so God willing, something will turn up."

Diamond put her head down and tried not to cry. Jason came behind her and hugged her.
