Love Is You

Chapter 6

It was the day before Thanksgiving and Diamond decided to invite Jason and her girlfriends and their men over for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. The couples were in Diamonds living room chatting with Jason and Diamond was in the kitchen finishing up the food. She baked a chicken, mashed some potatoes, steemed some vegetables, and made some dirty rice to go with it. For dessert, she baked a sweet potatoe pie. The mood was right, everybody was happy and the aroma of her apartment was filling their senses.

"Diamond, I printed out the pictures of you at your birthday. They came out good." Antione said as he pulled out his breifcase full of photography projects. 

"Great! Leave them on the dining room table, I'll take a look at them later. Thanks Antione." Diamond said.

"No problem." He said, and placed them on the table.

"Dinner is ready everybody." Dimaond said as she washed the plates and placed them on the kitchen counter. "Every man to himself." She joked.

"You're a mess." Vanessa said to her. "But, it sure does smell good. We all know you can throw down." 

Diamond looked at Jason. "You heard that? I can 'throw down'." She said, and winked at him.

"We'll see about that." He said, kissing her on her forehead.

Once everybody was seated and eating, the conversation began.

"So, you ever been with a black girl before?" Keith asked as he scooped his mashed potatoes onto his fork and into his mouth.

Jason was blown away by the question and almost choked on his chicken.

"Uh, yeah." He said, taking a sip of water.

Vanessa nuddged Keith and rolled her eyes. I sat there in disbelif. My eyes had widened and my face felt flushed. Jason could tell I was humiliated. He placed his hand on my knee under the table to let me know that it was okay.

"Oh true." Keith said. He was being really obnoxious.

"So, do you want a boy or girl?" Jason asked Keith, trying to take the heat off of him.

"I want a girl." Keith said happily.

"Well I want a boy." Vanessa butted in.

Jason just smilled and nodded his head.

"You got any kids of your own?" Keith asked Jason.

"Nope. No kids." Jason replied and focused on his veggies.

"You want kids?" Keith asked him.

"Sure do." Jason responded with a smile on his face.
