Four: He cares?

Scarlet's Pov:

I bolted awake and breathed heavily. I was drenched in sweat and was trying to calm down. "Don't worry miss, it was just a nightmare." A person who must be a doctor said. As much as I wish what she said was true, that wasn't only a nightmare, but a true event in my lifetime. But to be on the safe side, I agreed with her.

"Y-yeah. Just a ni-nightmare." I said. "Please calm down. Deep breaths now. My name's Jane and I'm the pack doctor." The girl said. "So I'm in the pack infirmary?" I asked and she nodded.

"Alpha Zachary gave me permission to do a check up on you. Are you okay with that?" Jane asked. "Y-yes. Yes go ahead." I said. "Okay so let's check your weight first." Jane said.

*Skipping check up*

"Okay now I need you to answer some questions. Would you be more comfortable with just me or can Alpha Zachary join us?" Dr. Jane asked. "Are these personal questions or what?" I asked. "It's about your health and your bruises." She said. "Oh.... um I would like if we could be the only two people to talk about." I said.

"Okay, if anything is too personal just let me know. Now first question is simple, what is your name?" She asked. "Scarlet Norma." I said and she wrote it down on a clipboard. "Are you apart of this pack or a different one?" "I was apart of a different pack but became a rouge." I said.

"Mind telling me why?" She asked and I sighed. "That's.... has to do with the bruises." I said and she nodded. "You don't have to tell me anything else about your pack if you don't want to and I can stop asking questions if you like." She said but I shook my head. "I'll let you know if I don't want to say anything." I said.

"How much were you fed?" She asked. "About twice a month." I said. "Any water?" She asked. "One bottle every week if I was good." I said. "How many times did you get... hurt?" She asked hesitantly. "Every day." I whispered but I knew she could hear it.

"We're stopping with the questions for now. Let me know when you're ready for Alpha Zachary to come in to see you." Jane asked. "He can come in now." I said mostly for my wolf's sake since she was going crazy without him. "I'll go get him then." She said before leaving. When she left I sighed in relief. I was honestly thankful that she stopped with the questions.

"Scarlet, are you already?" Zachary asked me. "Yeah I'm fine." I said. "She can go as soon as she signs these papers. Try to bring her back her for a check up in a week." Dr. Jane said and she went off somewhere. "Scarlet you had me worried to death, what happened?" Zachary asked.

"I fainted. Why would you be worried about me?" I asked. "You're my mate, why wouldn't I be worried?" Zachary said. "No one cares about me." I mumbled. "I do." He said kissing me on my forehead. "Sign the forms and I cab show you the rest of the pack house." Zachary said and I nodded. I finished signing the papers and we went off.

Luke's Pov:

I walked out of Markus's office angrily. I saw some whore in a sluttly outfit walk into the office. I sighed and walked off. Markus doesn't even care about his own mate. Any normal dude who had a mate would get mad if I said something like that about their mate, but there's Markus who is a man whore.

If only Scarlet sticked around a little bit longer. I have been planning an escape for her for a few years now. I knew that if we would have been caught, I would either have to beat her up or have my title stripped. I was trying to convince Markus to make her a rouge so she could escape but he said that she must pay for the death of his parents' friends.

His parents don't even know what went on with Scarlet. He made sure to cover her scent and hide her well. For all they know, Scarlet went off with our uncle and aunt in Paris. I must admit that I was angry at Scarlet because I believe that she did kill our parents, but she was so young at the time that she couldn't have. That's why I tried to help her.

Now I have to help 'look' for her. I can at least call the packs to see if they found her. If they did, then I can go over and ask them to keep her safe for me. I grabbed my phone and went out to the woods because I don't want the other pack members to hear me. I went to a secret area where I know that no one knows and called the nearest packs there are.

Each one said that they saw a rouge past by but didn't brother to stop it. One pack said that they saw her walk in The Black Soul Pack. After calling the pack next to The Black Soul Pack, I was told that they never saw her. I quickly dialed the number. I just hope that I'm not too late.

Zachary's Pov:

I was showing my mate around the pack house when I got a call. "Hold on, this might be important." I told Scarlet and she nodded. I walked her to the couches and we sat down. I answered the phone. "Hello." I said. "This is Beta Luke from The Bloody Heart Pack. Has a female rouge pass on your land within about three days?" Luke asked. "Why would you care?" I asked.

"She might be my sister. Her name is Scarlet Norma. If you find her, please keep her safe." Luke begged. "Give me one second." I said and I put the phone on mute so he couldn't hear my conversation with Scarlet. "Did you come from The Bloody Heart Pack?" I asked and she froze.

"Please, I'm begging you. Don't give me back to them. I'll leave your land if you want just please, don't give me back to them." Scarlet begged. She had tears forming in her eyes. "Hey hey hey, calm down. I'm not giving you back ever." I said.

"Really? You promise?" She asked. "I promise." I said. "It's your brother, he told me to keep you safe. Would you like to talk to him?" I asked and she froze again. "Put him on speaker." Scarlet said. I unmuted him and put in on speaker. "You're on speaker." I said. "Why am I on speaker?" Luke asked.

"Luke." Scarlet said and the phone was silent. "S-Scarlet, is that really you?" Luke asked. "Y-Yes." Scarlet said. "Oh Scarlet. Thank God you're safe! Alpha Zachary please, take care of her for me." Luke said. "I will you don't have to ask. I will always protect my mate." I said. "Then I trust her with you. Scarlet I'm sorry for not helping you back at the pack. I was trying to find a way to let you escape. I had everything plan for three days after the party. But then you already left. Can you ever forgive me?" Luke asked and it was clear he was crying.

"I forgive you. You never really beat me up. All you did was call me names, and give me those drinks." Scarlet said with a shudder. "Those helped you live." Luke said. "What? How?" Scarlet asked. "They had medical ingredients so that you could heal." Luke said. "Sorry that hurted so much." Luke added.

"It's fine. Maybe sometime when I get settled you can visit. If it's okay with Alpha Zachary." Scarlet said. "First off I am just Zachary. And second off, as long as it's just your brother and he has no intention to harm you, I'm fine with him visiting. I'll call you again and arrange the day later." I said.

"Thank you so much. Goodbye." Luke said before hanging up. "Well that was an unexpected call." I said. "He cares." Scarlet said. "He actually cares. I was wondering why he never helped me before but he has been helping me all along. Now I feel awful." Scarlet said. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I ripped a few of his baseball cards before I left." Scarlet said and I laughed.
