Five: Telling Zachary

Scarlet's Pov:

"Don't disobey me." Alpha Markus sneered as he bought a whip down on my back. Tears rolled down my face, one after another, but I didn't yelp. He would make it much worse and bring out the silver whip if I did. After ten more minutes of agonizing pain, he stopped. "If you ever talk back again, it will be much worse. Clean up this mess and get back to your chores." Alpha Markus said. "Yes Alpha, I'm sorry Alpha." I said bowing my head. He left and I cleaned up my blood that was on the floor.

I woke up and didn't know where I was for a second. Then I remembered that I found my mate. I tried to get up but arms where trapping me in. I moved and replaced my body with a pillow and headed down stairs to make breakfast. I didn't see anything to make a salad so I stuck to pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, and to drink orange juice.

I started to place the food on the table and I heard someone running down the stairs. I ran to the doorway and kneeled down. "Scarlet! You scared me half to death." Zachary said before hugging me. "Why are you on the floor?" He asked. "So you know where I am if I made a mistake." I said.

"Mistake on what?" He asked. "Breakfast." I said pointing to the table. "I'm sorry that there's no salads. I couldn't find any lettuce." I added. "Scarlet, you don't have to make breakfast for the pack. We usually make our own breakfasts and the parents make their children breakfast." Zachary said. "Sorry." I said bowing my head.

Zachary used his hand to move my head and make me look at him. "Don't submit to me, you're my mate. We are equal. And don't submit to anyone else, okay?" Zachary asked and I nodded. Then someone else walked in. "Is someone making bacon?" A boy asked. "Help yourself." I said and he looked at me.

"Zachary, who's this?" The boy asked. "David this is Scarlet, my mate. Scarlet this is David, my younger brother." Zachary said, introducing us. I waved slightly to David. "Is she shy?" David asked.

"I- actually don't know. Are you shy? And why did you make breakfast for the whole pack? And why did you apologize for not being able to make salads? And why did you submit to me? And why- You know what, can you answer my questions while we eat breakfast?" Zachary asked.

I nodded yes. Not because I wanted to, but because I was afraid he would hurt me if I said no. 'Mate won't hurt us.' Crystal said but I didn't believe her. 'He still might.' I said. The alphas I know are mean and vicious, and having the alpha of the vicious pack of the world as a mate doesn't help with my trust issues.

He got us each a plate and a drink and brought us to the dining room table. We sat in silence eating, well he was eating. I was picking at my food. Then he sighed. "Scarlet, this is so good. Why aren't you eating?" He asked. "I'm not hungry." I said which was true. After eating only twice a month and drinking water once a week, you don't really get hungry.

"Please. At least eat some toast." Zachary begged. I grabbed a piece of toast and slowly chewed on it. I managed to eat one and a half pieces of toast before I stopped eating. I waited for Zachary to finish eating before we walked to his room.

I shivered at all the times Alpha Markus brought me to his room to torture me. It took all of my will power and Crystal's help to not run when Zachary asked me to sleep in the room with him. He said sleep with me so I started to take off my shirt. He turned away and gave me one of his t-shirts as pjs.

I was confused until Crystal told me that he meant to sleep in the bed with him not the other type of sleep with him. We sat down on the bed and I played with the covers while looking down. "Please tell me what happen." Zachary said. He was about three feet away from me which I was thankful for.

"When I was three, my parents died in a rouge attack. I couldn't make my way to the pack house and they died protecting me. From that day on the whole pack blamed me for the death of their Beta and his wife so I became the pack slave. I couldn't do much until I was six years old so they just kept me in a room and gave me food and water twice a week. By age ten I was getting food once a month and water once a week if I was good.

"My brother and sister, well just my sister now I guess, disowned me and beat me up instead of helping me. I got beat up everyday. They stopped and let me heal so I wouldn't die but I wanted to die so bad. I-" I said until I started to cry. "Can I hold you?" Zachary asked and I slowly nodded.

He came over and held me close. "You don't have to finish. I won't let them get you. If I ever see any of them again, they'll be put in the cells." Zachary said. "Don't." I said. "Why not? They hurt you when you did nothing wrong." Zachary said.

"Alpha's orders. Well the current alpha anyways. The parents of Alpha Markus didn't and still don't know what's going on." I said. "Don't call him alpha, he doesn't deserve that title." Zachary said. "If I see him, can I at least punch him?" Zachary asked. "Once." I decided. "Then that's it. Unless he attacks back." I added.

"Well do you want to watch a movie?" Zachary asked. "Nothing scary please." I said. "How about Kung Fu Panda?" Zachary asked. "Isn't that childish?" I asked. "If you don't want that, how about Goosebumps?" Zachary said. "Kung Fu Panda it is." I said and Zachary laughed.

Markus's Pov:

I was sitting in my office finishing paper work, when Cindy walked in. "Man whore!" Cindy yelled at me. "What?" I asked, irritated. "You just fucked a bitch, and don't lie cause I can smell her scent on you." Cindy said. "So? You go sluttling around all the time." I said.

"Do you feel a pain in your stomach, like your whole body is on fire?" Cindy asked. "No why?" I said annoyed. "Well if I was having sex with anyone but you, you would feel that pain, so that proves that I having been cheating." Cindy said. "What's that have to do with anything?" I asked.

"Unlike you I have stopped my idiotic ways." Cindy said. "If you're just going to complain, go somewhere else, and I'm not stopping cause I don't believe you have stopped." I said. "Fine, you leave me no choice. Since you're not going to stop, then I Cindy Norma rejected you Markus Scott as mate and luna of the Bloody Heart pack." Cindy said.

I hissed and held back screams as the mark she gave me closed up. Her mark that I gave her disappeared too but she didn't scream. "That's it. Cindy Norma, you are officially kicked out of this pack. If you aren't gone in two hours you will be thrown in the cells." I said and she walked out, slamming the door.

Cindy's Pov:

I already packed up my belongings because I had a feeling he wouldn't stop being a whore and would kick me out once I reject him. I saw my brother walking past and I stopped him. "Luke, I need to talk to you." I said. "What do you want?" Luke said, annoyed. "I'm leaving." I said.

"Is this about attention? Cause if it is-" Luke started. "I rejected Markus because he wouldn't stop sleeping around and he kicked me out." I said. "Haven't you been sleeping around too?" Luke asked. "He would have felt pain if I did. I stopped once I found out he was my mate, but it's clear that he won't stop." I said.

"That's right, you marked each other two days after you found out." Luke said. "Where are you going?" He asked. "With Aunt Marge and Uncle Erick." I said. "All the way to Paris? Are you sure?" He asked. "I'm sure. I got my plane ticket booked and I already asked them. My plane takes off in three hours." Cindy said.

"Want me to help?" Luke asked. "No, stay here and look after the pack. It's clear that Al- Markus won't do it." I said with tears rising, but I blinked them away. "That's why you beat up Scarlet, you did it for Markus." Luke said and I nodded. That was also one of the idiotic things I did.

"When you come to visit, you can see Scarlet again and apologize if you want." Luke said. "Why? How?" I asked. "The packs looking for her." Luke said. "Protect her." I whispered. "I will." Luke mind linked me with our family link. I went to my room to get my bags and Luke went on his way.
