Chapter 9: Skating Rings and Pizza

     Jordan literally threatened me to leave to hospital today. He said if I did not get out of his hospital room and call him when I reach the this place, he would have no choice, but to remove me from the visitors list. Even though technically speaking there are only like ten of us on that list and I am the only one that actually comes to see him.

Like he would ever do that, he loves me too much.

But now that I am out I cannot help but feel bad. Jordan's been in the hospital for a week now. He has taken so many test and so many injections that his arms are all bruised.

Why should I be having fun when he is in so much pain?

     After Jordan did the scans about three days ago there seems to be an uneasiness every time Doctor Nelson walks inside the room. I cannot help but think that he is hiding something from us. But Jordan told me not to worry. So that is the reason why I am sitting in this stupid skating ring by myself, watching these kids have fun.

     Jordan told me to call him after I got here so that is exactly what I am going to do.

"Hey." He picks up after the second ring. "Are you having the time of your life?"

"No!" I defend. "I don't know why you sent me here."

"Because I'm tired of seeing you all sad and depressed cooped up in this hospital room. There's only room in this relationship for one Debby Downer and right now that's me." There is a small silence between the both of us. 

"You know Jordan I'm really sorry. If I had known this was going to happen I would have moved the wedding date up like you wanted."

After the doctor told us that he was not sure as to exactly when Jordan would be discharged from the hospital, we decided that it would be best to postpone the wedding. I can tell you being so close to the date Amber was furious. She chewed my head off for over an hour. But when she realized I had bigger problems to face she settled down. That is what best friends are for right.

"Hey Jade you still there?"

"Unfortunately, Yes I am still in this stupid skating place eating some cold pizza, but I must say that it's good cold pizza."

"Ha! I'm sure anything is better than this hospital food."

"Hey if you want I could bring you some."

"OMG! Yes please can you?"

He sounds really desperate and I decide to tell him. "Wow. You sound like a desperate teenage girl craving sex." If I was there I know I would see him begin to pout. "But because of your pleading I will bring you some."

"Yes. I win."

Cute that he thinks that.

"Oh not so fast my friend. I'm only bringing you the pizza if... I can bring right now."

I hear him intake his breathe. He knows that I have won.

Jade=2      Jordan=0

"Okay, you can come, but you can't stay for too long. I don't want you to focus on me all of the time. You need sometime to yourself."

"Fine. Five minutes is all I ask with you."

"Don't get all sentimental, Just shut up and get over here with my pizza."

Sounding like Nurse Rickara I reply, "You bet your bottom dollar. I'll be over there faster than you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'." And with that I hang up.

     Before leaving I ask my server Ashley to get me something to pack the rest o the pizza in. When I am finished I am off to my car to head to the hospital. But suddenly I collide head first into someone. They must work out because my body aches from the impact. Looking up I stare into the eyes of a man that should be considered illegal for his good looks. But it would be a crime for him to be locked away where no one could see his handsome face.
