I grabbed Harry’s hand in mine and squeezed it reassuringly, hoping he would trust me.  He shot me a determined look, seeming to agree with my silent decision.  Together, we strolled towards his car, trying our best to look indifferent about the complete waste of human anatomy waiting there.  Colt smirked as we approached.  It was different from the smirk Harry often directed at me; it was cold, threatening, malicious, so different from the playful, sexy smirks I received from Harry.

Harry pulled his keys out of his bag in an optimistic attempt to try and get in the car without any further interaction with Colt.  I hovered next to Harry as we approached within feet of Colt, eyeing him bravely.  If I had my way, I would start a fight with him right now, but I was trying to respect my promise to Harry, repeating it over and over in my head as the desire to kick Colt in the groin grew stronger each and every second.  Unlocking his car, Harry barely had the door open a foot before Colt slammed his fist into the metal, smashing the door shut again against the frame with a loud thud.

“Where do you think you’re going, fag?” he snarled, smirk growing angrier at Harry’s attempt to ignore him.

“Home,” he said calmly.  My heart started to pound angrily at Colt’s tone.

“I don’t think so,” Colt threatened, taking a menacing step towards Harry, crowding an awful lot of bodies in the small space we occupied.

“What do you want, Colt?” Harry asked.  I was surprised how steady his voice was when surely all he could think about was the last time he had been faced with Colt, his friends, and their furiously flying fists.

“I want you to stay away from her,” he said, throwing his head in my direction without removing his glare from Harry.

“Sorry, mate, can’t do that.” So deadly calm.  How was he doing that?  I had yet to say anything as I fumed next to Harry.  How dare Colt try to lay some claim over me?  I wanted nothing to do with him ever again, what made him think he had the right to so much as look at me anymore?

“Oh, I think you can,” growled Colt, stepping even closer to Harry.  “She doesn’t need some tiny little fuck like you, so why don’t you do everyone a favor and get the fuck out of here.”

“That’s for her to decide, isn’t it?” Harry questioned.  Neither one of them had torn their eyes away from each other throughout the entire exchange.  I had never seen Harry so brave.

“No, it’s not.  She clearly doesn’t know what she’s doing if she’s wasting her time with you.  You pathetic little loser, she doesn’t want you, she’s just too dumb to see it.”

That was it.  I snapped.  With a ferocious growl I didn’t think was humanly possible escaping my lips, I launched myself at Colt, attacking every part of him I could reach.  My fingers clawed at his skin, tearing through in streaks across his face, his arms, his neck while my knee jerked up to connect to his groin, causing him to double over.  My fists flew through the air, connecting solidly with the side of his head, his jaw, even his stomach a few times.  I screamed filthy things at him, things I had never so much as thought but rolled off my tongue so smoothly it was as if I had rehearsed it every day of my life.

“You cowardly son of a bitch, you stay the fuck away from us or I swear to god I will fucking kill you!  You are the most despicable piece of shit I’ve ever seen and you can go rot in hell for all I care, now for the last time, do not fucking come near either of us ever again!”  I was screaming manically as I continued to scratch, claw, and punch at every piece of him I could reach.  “I’ll kill you!”

My arms were suddenly wrestled to my sides as I struggled against the restraint, trying to free myself to continue to inflict as much damage to the pile of shit in front of me.  Colt looked shocked, his jaw slack and eyes wide as he stared at me before swiping his hand across his face.  Blood was clearly smeared there when he pulled back to examine it.  Good.
