I saw cobwebs all over the place, and the train looked abandoned. There were spiders, roaches, and dust. I'd never seen anything like it.
It was horrifying. To think, that comforting train that had whizzed by my house everyday was deserted. I wanted to leave the moment I stepped in there, I wanted to leave. But I had no choice. It would bring me to a small town, and there I could get help and food.
So I stayed, swatted cobwebs out of the way as I slowly walked through the compartments. I finally stopped when I came to one that had a bit less cobwebs, and two beds. When I sat down, the chairs groaned under my weight. I looked uncertainly at it, standing up as I did so.
"Hello? Anybody there?!" I yelled to the empty train. I got no answer.
The train was picking up speed, so I pulled out a half burnt, half sort-of-salvageable book and started to read.
