Chapter 7: Afgin

I blinked open my eyes on the train as it slowed to a halt. My book had fallen down my chest, and my bag was laying sideways on the floor. I quickly checked the train to see if there was any food left on board. There wasn't. I hopped off, anxious to get off the musty train.

I looked around to see an abandoned town. Or, what looked like an abandoned town. Because if I looked closely, I could see people in the store windows, and the restaurant full of people. I walked over to a chocolate shop the had a sign out front saying "Jimmy's Chocolate", another sign advertising free samples, and yet another sign saying "OPEN".

As I pushed open the door, a cheerful bell rung throughout the store. There was a boy standing in one corner talking to who I assumed was Jimmy. He had ear length sandy-tan hair and pale olive skin.

Jimmy, on the other hand, was so pale I could also see right through him and he was mostly bald with a little brown hair.

So I slowly walked up to Jimmy, my legs shaking a little. I explained my situation and the man thought for a moment.

"Well my name's Jimmy, and I run this chocolate shop. Would you like a piece of chocolate, by the way?" I nodded. He continued, giving me a piece of 70% dark chocolate. "And I see you've managed to find yourself a little town, now have you? Well this little town, it's called Afgin,"
