I just nodded, not knowing what to say back. "And this here, this is my most regular customer I've ever had in my 40 years. Buys five pounds each time, and comes three times a week! Don't ya, lad? Now kindly introduce yourself, Hunt," Jimmy continued, tousling the boy's hair. I could he liked talking.
Before the boy could introduce himself, or even walk over, I quickly said, "I'm Jessica. Nice to meet you."
Since he was in the corner, looking at some specialty chocolate when I said this, and I was close to the door, he stride over to me. I still didn't know his name. He looked me over, and then said in odd voice, "Well hello there. I'm The Hunt."
When I raised an eyebrow, he said, "Well, actually my name is Thomas Hunter-Hunter is my last name-but everyone calls me some version of The Hunt, because TH are my initials."
I just nodded again. "Maybe you should take this lad-Jessica, is it?-back home with you, and have your mom fix sandwiches and Goldfish," Jimmy told Hunt sternly, as if he didn't have a choice.
Hunt mumbled something like, "Sure.", and I followed him out the door.
