I can't even tell you how good it'll feel to go home. It'll be so surreal leaving and knowing you have a life to care for.
Hopefully the hospital you stay in gives you the option to take the baby into the nursery at night. You DEFINITELY want to do that if you can so you can rest. Don't feel bad doing it. You'll be exhausted and you'll have some sleepless nights ahead of you at home. Let the hospital/nurses take care of you while you're there.
You'll be sore and if you're anything like me... looking forward to a nice glass of wine when you get home.
Something you might not know about newborns is that they can sleep up to 20 hours a day at first. You'll probably get more sleep than you think. You'll probably have to feed them 2-3 times a night but you'll be used to restless sleep since you were so big these last few months anyway.
Cheers to parenthood. The minute you're holding that baby in your arms you're never going to know a love like you will in that moment. I know that's pretty cliche to say but it's true.
Welcome to the club :)
