I leaned back into the seat of the plane and sighed. it'd been a long weekend and it was only the first game. we beat the capitals on the night of their home opener and the boys battled tooth and nail for it.

the lights of the cabin dimmed and a lot of our team settled into their own corners to catch some shut eye on our way home. I looked across the aisle and a soft smile cracked across my face. Sid slept quietly in his seat. his hair was fixed and he looked nice but if you looked at him closely you saw the exhaustion.

I looked around to make sure no one was paying attention then slipped over next to Sidney. he stayed still while I buckled back up and listened for the flight attendant to announce take off.

when she announced we were now in the air I unbuckled, looked around once more, then pressed my lips to his. he was still for a moment but then responded by grazing his tongue across my bottom lip.

"game winning goal in OT. how did you do it?"

he chuckled and nestled his head into the crook of my neck, "I noticed my lucky charm watching from the glass," he whispered.

my heart rate picked up at the sound of him calling me his lucky charm. his lips were pressing to my neck and I could feel his exploration of my skin.

"get some sleep," I said.

he nestled closer to me and wrapped his arm around my waist before we both drifted off to sleep.

when I woke up, he was looking down at me with a smirk, "hi beautiful," me mouthed.

I flashed him a sleepy smile then leaned up and fastened my seatbelt.

"do you have a ride home?" Sid asked. "I don't want you driving this late."

"Sidney I can drive perfectly fine,"I laughed.

"why won't you just come home with me tonight?"

"you wish. I have school tomorrow," I explained.

"that doesn't mean you can't just come home with me. I'm sure Jack will cover for you, he always does. I need some time with you before we go on our next trip and you're back in Pittsburgh for two weeks and I'm across the country," he pushed. he wanted me in his bed even if we just slept somehow it was still a prize.

"I really can't."

"fine Maggie," he sighed

"you act like we're together and it's my job to sleep in your bed whenever you ask."

"we aren't together?" he asked

"you haven't asked," I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest.

"then get out of that seat and return my hoodie tomorrow morning," he said coldly.

I followed his command and pushed myself out of the seat then got in the one I sat in originally.

when the plane landed I was gone the second my bag came in. he was such a jerk. I grabbed his hoodie from the front seat of my car and threw it on the hood of his car then went home.

the next few weeks I ignored Sid at all costs. it was easy after a few days because the team had left for a series of away games.

now, two weeks later, I sat across from Jason in a crowded restaurant I knew for a fact the team would be at tonight. unknowingly, he insisted on this place because we used to come here so often.

I situated my dress and took a deep breath when I noticed Kris walking in with his wife. he noticed me and shot me a smile before walking to their table on the other side of the room.

"hey J I'm going to the restroom. will you order me what I always get?"

"yeah of course," he smiled.

I smiled back then started walking back to the bathroom. as I started to open the door a body got behind me and pushed me into the bathroom. the smell of Old Spice and Tide filled the air so when the figure turned around and pressed his lips to mine I came back just as passionately.

Sidney forgot to turn the lights on so his attempt of lifting me onto the counter failed a first time but after retrying he had me where he wanted me.

my lips greedily latched onto his trying to get everything I missed these last few weeks. his hands held my waist tightly at first but eased when he realized that he had me. I wasn't fighting but begging.

he pulled back but I grabbed onto his tie and pulled him back and started to untie it.

"does he know you're taken?" he asked while he backed away from me.

"I'm not."

"don't say that because you are. you're mine. I don't want there to be another day my hands don't hold you." he stepped towards me and kissed me once more, "just say yes."

"yes," I whispered.

he grinned and kissed me but wouldn't let me deepen it.

"what?" I asked

"don't keep him waiting. it's rude."

"Sid!"

"go enjoy your dinner. my hoodie is in your front seat."

I walked out of the restroom and back to the table. Jason locked his phone and shoved it into his pocket. "So maggs, there's something I need to talk to you about."

"okay?" I looked over at Sidney walking to his table. he straightened his tie then sat down next to Geno. G glanced back at me blushing and laughed a little before winking at me and turning back around.

"I'm moving back home in a few weeks and I want to propose the possibility of us getting back together."

my eyes grew wide at his idea.

"I'm not saying pick up where we left off. I'm saying lets start over."

"Jason, I," my voice cut off when there stood Sidney again.

"Maggie," he smiled and leaned down to kiss my cheek, "I overheard what he asked you," he whispered.

"Who are you?" Jason asked.

"Hi I'm Sidney, Maggie's boyfriend."

Jason's mouth dropped before he looked over at me, "you're dating someone?"

"yeah I was going to tell you tonight," I lied.

"I should've never given you up."

I reached over and placed my hand on Sid's and in that moment Jason knew, got up and left.

"he won't give up, you know," I chimed in.

"I'm not worried."
