She fell off a bridge and lived to tell the tale. But she had her heart broken and she is singing from beyond her grave. The words soft but hard, dense but hollow, dead... but alive! The words sink into the flesh and dig a hole in the soul. what were the words yew ask? Well they we're nothing non other than " could you take care of a broken soul? ." Sure it doesnt sound like much,or does it? The next question going through your head now must be ' how can someone possibly die of a broken heart?"
She was driving down the road on a foggy night. The road was silent and the only headlights had passed a few minutes ago and that was it. She was alone on the long stretched out road of Oxford. Or was she? Listening to one of her favourites, take me home by Jesse Glynne, the 22 year old drove up the road in a steady pace, 120km/h on an 80 zone. It was night time and she loved the 'purr' of her Volkswagen beetle. Plus no one else was on the road, right?
The chorus came on and like any 22 year old she sang along in her best impression, " would you take the wheel, if I loose control?"
Her eyes eventually opened only to find herself in the most uncomfortable position. The air although seemed cool while she was driving had suddenly turned bitter and had an icey chill to it. All at once she felt the most excruciating pain she had ever perceived in he resistance. Her head tilted over and struggling to breath it finally dawned on her that she had had an accident. The pain unbearable in every way but she managed to look down and to her horror a piece of metal was lodged right through her rib cage, she was no doctor but yew really didn't need a doctor to see that the metal rod pierced her heart. The wind picked up and the pain intensified. She decided it was dire her time that night, she decided she couldn't hold on but just as she was about to give in, what happened next was like something out of a horror movie, the unmistakable sound of her favourite song filled her bloody ears, "if I'm lying here, would you take me home?" And it stopped. She was convinced the song was demanding an answer, and it played again. But instead of continuing it repeated again, " if I'm lying here, would you take me home?" Now she was convinced that it was addressing to her. and again, and again she heard the same verse she decided to try make a sound but the only thing she could master was a whisper, "yes." And just like that the song stopped playing. It didn't play the next verse... it never did.
After her funeral she now sits in the corner... yes that corner. Don't look now... but if yew listen closer yew can hear her... yew can here her singing the next verse... can yew hear her?
" would you take care, of a broken soul? Will you hold me now?.... will you take me....home?"I can...
