"What's your name?" I asked her, keeping my voice gentle and friendly.

She still had that uneasy expression on her face and I guess that's because she find it difficut to trust people she just met.

"Jia." She answered in a small voice.

"Jia." I repeated, and I saw her flinch slightly when I said her name.

"Nice to meet you, Jia." I said and she promptly nodded her head.

"You, too."

"Do you usually play in the rain?"

For some reason, she just stayed completely still.

"Are you okay?" I asked, starting to get worried.

"Yes." She prompted. "I mean, I used to play in the rain all the time with my best friend."

I smiled, happy to be able to recieve more than two words from her.

"Has your best friend been visiting you recently?"

"I don't wanna talk about it."
