"Good night, Seungcheol." Jia said with a smile, and tiptoed to kiss me on the cheek.
"Good night, Jia." I replied and leaned in to kiss her back, but she immediately pushed my forehead away with one finger.
Our laughter faded in my mind.
"Jia, come out here! The rain's waiting!" I yelled towards her window, and within seconds, Jia dashed out of her front door.
She ran into my arms and I spun her around as we got soaked in the rain together.
"Seungcheol, do you want to go on a road trip with me?"
"In the middle of the night?"
I stopped there. The memories kept coming, but I stopped right there.
I tried to hold it back, but I couldn't suppress it out of my mind.
"Seungcheol, look out!"
Because of the accident, Jia not only lost her eye sight, but she also lost her best friend.
"He left me."
All this time, I thought that phrase meant that he had died.
I pulled on my hair and let out a frustrated cry.
He lost his memory of her. He left her, because he couldn't remember anything.
Jia was left all alone.
And I remember now.
I was her best friend.
